The best way to reach Lonavala Station is by taking the Mumbai Pune Express train which halts at Lonavla. However, being located at a distance of 83 kms away from Mumbai, you can also opt to drive to Lonavla.
This night trek to Korigad fort is great for beginners looking for a unique trek experience. It's an easy trek, but because you're doing it at night, you'll be extra alert.
You'll start the trek in the evening, and it's only about 1.5 hours to get to the top. Along the way, you'll get beautiful views of the surrounding landscape lit by the moon. At the top, you'll enjoy a crackling bonfire and dinner, and then retire to tents for the night. In the morning, you'll wake to dewy views of Aamby Valley, Nagphani Point, Tung and Prabalgad Forts, the Matheran region and many mountain ranges.
Located at an altitude of 3028 feet, Korigad Fort lies in the midst of a forested region about 20 kms away from Lonavala. There is an ancient temple at the summit dedicated to the local deity Koraidevi, Lord Shiva and Vishnu. The 2 km wall around the fort stands intact and there are 6 canons and several ruined idols and structures, so there is plenty to explore.

You'll have to meet the operator at Lonavala Station by 19:30 hours. You'll be driven from here to Peth in Shahpur which is the base village near the fort. You'll reach the base village by 21:00 hours and eat dinner here. After a short briefing session, you'll start your trek to Korigad Fort by 22:00 hours. You should reach the fort by 23:30 hours and can soak in the stunning night views of the surrounding hills and forts. You'll set up camp here for the night with tents and a crackling bonfire. You'll start your trek from the base village of Peth after you eat a delicious dinner with veg and non veg options. You should reach the fort by 23:30 hours and set up camp here with twin/triple sharing tents and a crackling bonfire. You'll sleep under the stars in an ancient fort 3000 feet above sea level.
