The trek starts from the base, Ambivali Village, and takes about 2 hours to get to Kothaligarh fort. The trail is narrow, rocky, and has gushing water streams and waterfalls during the monsoon. It meanders through dense bushes and trees and the views from this trail, especially during the monsoons are spectacular. You'll see some brilliant photo opportunities, so don't forget to carry your camera along.

Kothaligarh is a small fort (3100 ft) situated to the east of Karjat near the Karjat-Murbad road in Maharashtra. It is one of the most famous treks in Karjat because of the relatively lower elevation and easy climbing. It is also known as the Peth fort because of its vicinity to Peth village at its base. There is also a small temple, and a cave to explore.

Participants from Mumbai will gather at the start point in Dadar. After a 3-hour-ride, you'll reach Ambivali village. The trek will begin at 9:30 am post breakfast and the briefing session. It takes about 2 hours to reach the top of Kothaligarh fort, from where there are spectacular views. The descent will start after spending a considerable time at the summit. You will climb your waiting vehicles and head back to Mumbai from the base village. Trip ends here.
