Kothaligad Peth Trek is an easy level trek that promises an adventurous experience. A few hours away from Mumbai, and Pune, this day trek is perfect for those looking at infusing small doses of adventure into their daily lives.

The trek starts from the base, Ambivali Village, and takes about 2 hours to get to Kothaligarh fort. The trail is narrow, rocky, and has gushing water streams and waterfalls during the monsoon. It meanders through dense bushes and trees and the views from this trail, especially during the monsoons are spectacular. You'll see some brilliant photo opportunities, so don't forget to carry your camera along.

Participants are also served vegetarian breakfast and lunch on this trip.

    Destination

Kothaligarh is a small fort (3100 ft) situated to the east of Karjat near the Karjat-Murbad road in Maharashtra. It is one of the most famous treks in Karjat because of the relatively lower elevation and easy climbing. It is also known as the Peth fort because of its vicinity to Peth village at its base. There is also a small temple, and a cave to explore.
