    Sign up for an adventure-packed road trip to Spiti and travel over some of the highest roads and highways in the world. You'll visit the famed monasteries of Key, Tabo and Dhankar. You'll send a postcard from the world's highest post office at Hikkim and try your hand at spotting fossils at Langza, the fossil village of India. Another major highlight of this adventure, you'll camp under the starlit sky near the crescent-shaped Chandratal Lake. All throughout, you'll travel on winding roads in the valley, swamped with dramatic views of dark grey mountains, and stay at local home-stays at quaint villages.

    Located deep in the Indian Himalayas of north-eastern Himachal Pradesh, the Spiti Valley sits at the intersection of India and Tibet. Rife with the rich Indo-Tibetan culture, the valley is home to historic monasteries that are renowned houses of worship for Buddhists all around the world.

    During this road trip, you will embark on an itinerary that combines sightseeing trips to such monasteries with a journey through the stark and imposing landscapes of Spiti. You will travel through high-altitude mountain passes offering breathtaking views to explore quaint villages brimming with local tradition and hospitality.

  • Day 1 of the Spiti Valley road trip: Arrive in Manali

    Arrive in Manali and check into a pre-booked hotel. Here, you'll have a short briefing session conducted by your tour guide. This orientation offers details on your upcoming itinerary and introduces your fellow travellers. You can spend the rest of the day at leisure.     For cancellations made more than 45 days before departure of the Spiti Valley road trip: 90% refund.

    For cancellations made between 16-45 days before departure of the Spiti Valley road trip: 80% refund.

    For cancellations made between 8-15 days before departure of the Spiti Valley road trip: 75% refund.

    For cancellations made between 4-7 days before departure of the Spiti Valley road trip: 50% refund.

    For cancellations made less than 4 days before departure of the Spiti Valley road trip: no refund.

    In case of show: no refund.

    All refunds will be processed after deducting a transaction fee of INR 200 per person. This fee is charged by The Great Next.

    Rules on trip

    Travellers are required to follow instructions of the tour guide during the Spiti Valley road trip.

    Consumption of alcohol and drugs is strictly prohibited during the trip. Travellers suspected of intoxication will not be allowed to participate in the trip.

    Travellers are requested to treat the local culture with respect and avoid littering, defacing property and monuments and causing general disturbance.

    Additional instructions, booking policies, terms and conditions

    Spiti Valley is located at an altitude with low internet connectivity and moderate road access/availability of services. Travellers are advised to take such circumstances under consideration before booking this Spiti Valley road trip.

    The tour operator takes utmost care to ensure safety of the travellers and shall not be held responsible for any mishap or accident during the trip.

    The tour operator reserves the right to change or cancel the itinerary of this trip due to bad weather conditions or other unforeseen circumstances to ensure maximum safety of travellers and staff. Additional costs arising from such a change in the itinerary will be borne by the traveller.
