This Leh motorbiking trip takes you from the green valleys of Manali, through the stark and dramatic landscapes of Leh on one of the most iconic motorbiking routes in India. You'll ride with a group of like-minded bikers, fully supported by a team of mechanics, biker guides, and staff. During the day, you'll see spectacular snow-capped mountains, cross streams of melting glacier water, and thunder through roads that lead through pine forests. At night, you'll camp in comfortable tents or stay in hotels.

PRICE VARIATIONS: This package is for 1 solo rider on a rented 350 CC Royal Enfield. For rider and pillion rider on rented 350 CC Royal Enfield: INR 40,700.

NOTE: There is a refundable security deposit of INR 5,000-10,000. This cost is not included in this package and will be paid directly to the operator.

Destination

You'll set off on the Volvo bus from Delhi and wake up in the morning in the green valleys of Manali. The fun starts now! After a day of rest and briefing, and getting used to your bike, you'll set off on your odyssey. The landscape begins to change as you ride into the upper reaches of the mountains. You'll ride through high altitude passes like Rohtang Pass and Khardung La, and into the cold desert of Nubra Valley where double-humped camels live. One of the highlights of the trip is the visit to Pangong Lake, where you'll see the colours of the water change as the sun goes down. You'll end in Manali, and head back to Delhi from there.

Today you'll arrive in Manali and check in to your hotel. Freshen up, eat something, grab a cup of tea and head out to check your bikes. You'll spend the day doing test rides so that you're comfortable. In the evening, you'll attend an orientation session and will meet the other riders. Overnight in hotel.

Today you will drive from Manali to Jispa, via Rohtang Pass. It's your first pass on this trip, so make the most of this one. You'll start seeing snow-capped mountains peaks and will enjoy the challenge of navigating through tricky road sections. Overnight in hotel in Jispa.

Today you will drive from Jispa to Sarchu Plains, crossing the Baralacha La Pass. Sarchu is the highest point of your trip, and you should pay close attention to the instructions of your guide to make sure you acclimatise well and avoid discomfort. You'll camp in tents at night.

Today you will cross over from Himachal Pradesh to Jammu and Kashmir as you drive to Leh. You'll take on the challenge of Nakeela Pass, Lachulungla Pass and Thanglang La, and then have the easy ride through 50 kms of the Great Gyanchuthang Plains. Once in Leh, you'll spend your night in a hotel.

Today will be a rest day in Leh. Your bikes will be taken for a full check. In the meantime, you'll head out to Pathar Sahib Gurudwara, Magnetic Hill, and the sangam of the Indus and Zanskar. Overnight in the same hotel or tents.

Today is one of the best days of your ride, as you'll be visiting Pangong Lake, crossing Chang La Pass on the way. Pangong Lake is one of the highest natural salt lakes, and is a stunning blue colour. You'll spend the night in tents by the lake, so you'll be able to see it in all the colours. Today you head back to Leh, stopping en route to see the Lotus Valley school where the Bollywood movie '3 Idiots' was shot. You'll check in to a hotel or campsite in Leh, where you should take it easy. Tomorrow you'll be conquering Khardung La pass, and will need all the rest you can get.

Today you'll take on the world’s highest motorable road to Khardung La. This is the old Silk Route, and leads to Siachen Glacier. Once you're over the pass, you'll enter Nubra Valley. This is a high altitude cold desert, with sand dunes and double-hump Siberian camels, as well as some patches of greenery with peach trees. Overnight in hotel.

You'll awake feeling great, having conquered the incredible Manali-Leh route. After breakfast, you'll pack up and check out of the hotel. You can spend the day in Manali, do some shopping, and by evening, you'll head to the bus stop to board your bus. Overnight in the bus.

  • Local bike rental from Leh: If the local bike union in Leh prevents riders from taking Delhi-registered bikes to Nubra and Pangong, then the team will have to rent bikes from Leh for 4 days. This is not included in the cost, but two bikers can share the cost of one bike and fuel charges if this happens.

Cancellation policy

For cancellations made sixty days or more before the Leh motorbiking ride departure: 100% of the package cost will be refunded.

For cancellations made 45-59 days before the Leh motorbiking ride departure: 75% of the package cost will be refunded.

For cancellations made 30-44 days before the Leh motorbiking ride departure: 50% of the package cost will be refunded.

No shows: No refund.

For cancellations made 0-29 days before the Leh motorbiking ride departure: No refund.

All the above are subject to a deduction of INR 2100 towards administration charges.

Rules on trip

During this Leh motorbiking trip, you must wear a helmet at all times.

You will be required to carry a valid photo ID at all times on the Leh motorbiking trip.

There is strictly no drinking and driving on this trip.

The decision of the tour leader during the Leh motorbiking trip will be final and no discussions or arguments will be entertained.

Additional instructions, booking policies, terms and conditions

This Leh motorbiking trip is a package deal. If the rider does not utilise any of the inclusions, or decides to return before the end of the trip, there will be no refund.

Any major damage to the bike and loss/ use of any spare part will be deducted from the security deposit or the rider can pay for it separately.

The refundable deposit will be payable to the operator directly. Any disputes regarding this will be settled between the operator and the rider.

This Leh motorbiking trip goes through sensitive areas, and it may be necessary to change the itinerary if it is deemed dangerous or not possible due to political reasons or weather. The cost for additional meals, accommodation or other costs not included in the package will be payable by the rider.

The operator is not responsible for accidents, thefts or illnesses on this Leh motorbiking trips.
