Conducted over 10 days, you will ride along the ancient Silk Route and emcompass many iconic sites as you go. From witnessing the spectacular Kanchenjunga peak, you’ll stop by the high altitudinal Nathu La Pass, the Gurudongmar Lake, the Yumthang Valley and the majestic Rumtek Monastery to name a few. As you ride, you’ll be exposed to riveting arid mountain views and glacial waterfalls, lush forests and tea plantations. Besides this, during your journey you’ll also get to interact with locals, drive through a plethora of small hamlets, witness the rustic way of life and even come as close as to the edge of China.

    Located in the northeast region of India, Sikkim is a state that is predominantly bordered by Bhutan, Tibet and Nepal. As it is located at an higher altitude, the landscape of this region mainly consists of mountainous terrains and rugged pathways. In the past, there ran the historic 'Silk Route,' which was a trade route that connected India and China for trading silk. The region is saturated with breathless arid beauty and varied landscapes, as well as a rich cultural heritage influenced by Buddhism.

  • Day 1 of the Sikkim Motorbiking Trip: Arrival in Siliguri

    Arrive in Siliguri today and check in at the hotel. Spend the day resting or venture out for sightseeing. However, post dinner you'll undergo a thorough briefing followed by orientation for the upcomming motorbiking trip. After briefing, return to your room and have an early night in.

    You'll arrive in Siliguri early today where you'll check into your hotel. You'll spend the day resting and exploring around Siliguri, no breakfast or lunch is provided today, so do pick up something for a local joint. At night you'll be served dinner in the hotel, before you retire into you twin sharing deluxe room.

  • Cancellation policy

    For cancellations made before the departure of the Sikkim motorbiking trip: the booking deposit of INR 5000 is non refundable.

    All cancellations/refunds on this trip will be processed after a deduction of INR 200 per person. This fee is charged by The Great Next and is applicable for all cancellations.

    Rules on trip

    The motorbike rider is required to wear a helmet at all times while riding on the Sikkim motorbiking trip. A safety helmet will be provided to the travellers by the tour operator. 

    Travellers are required to follow all instructions of the road captain at all times during the Sikkim motorbiking trip. 

    Consumption of alcohol and drugs is strictly prohibited during the Sikkim motorbiking trip. Travellers suspected of intoxication will not be allowed to participate in the trip.

    Travellers getting their own motorbike must ensure that the vehicle is registered to the rider's name and all the relevant documents (pollution check, insurance and driver's licence etc) are in order.

    Travellers are requested to treat the local culture with respect and avoid littering, defacing property and monuments and causing general disturbance.

    Additional instructions, booking policies, terms and conditions

    Travellers are required to carry a valid, govt-issued photo ID card and a valid driver's licence for the Sikkim motorbiking trip.

    For any physical damages to the bike during the Sikkim motorbiking trip, the traveller has to pay for the damages.

    If any traveler wishes to exit the Sikkim motorbiking trip mid-way for any medical or personal reasons, an additional charge of transporting the motorbike from the leaving point to the end point will be applicable at INR 10000 per bike.

    The tour operator reserves the right to alter or cancel the itinerary of the Sikkim motorbiking trip due to any unforeseen circumstances to ensure maximum safety of travellers and staff. Costs arising due to such a change in itinerary will be borne by the traveller.
