If you've done a few treks in the Sahyadris and are looking for something different, this day trek to Naneghat is perfect for you. The route takes you through a mountain pass in the Western Ghats, so expect rocky trails, clouds of mist caught between peaks, and strong winds. The trail can get very slippery in patches, and if it's raining, you'll be walking up as rainwater flows down the path, under your shoes. This is a must-do monsoon trek for adventure buffs!
There are stunning views from the summit, and you'll build up a good appetite for lunch. Breakfast, lunch and snacks are included in this package.
Naneghat is a mountain pass close to Pune, and used to be a famous trade route at one time. The trek to Naneghat takes you on a well-marked route, with some interesting land features including high rock walls at the pass, slices of rock cut out of the side of the hill, and ancient caves with carvings on them. There are spectacular views from the top, thanks to an elevation of about 2,400 feet.

Your day starts early as you have to get to Kalyan railway station by 06:30 hrs. Once the team has assembled, you'll board vehicles to Naneghat, stopping en route for breakfast. You'll reach Vaishakhare, the base village, and have some time to warm up and go through an introduction session. The trek to Naneghat begins at 08:30 hrs, and will take 2-3 hours. You'll have time to explore the caves, the views from the top, and enjoy lunch, before heading back down again by about 03:00 hrs. From the base village, you'll be transported back to Kalyan railway station. Your trip ends here.
