  • Trip introduction

    If you’ve dived before but wish to upgrade your skills, then the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course in the Gili Islands is the perfect choice for you. In this course, you’ll get to choose your dives, swim to the deeper depths of the Bali Sea to explore a new layer of spectacular marine biodiversity.

    Conducted over 2 days, on the first day, you’ll embark on the 2 compulsory dives of Deep and Underwater Navigation. On the second day, you’ll get to choose your remaining 3 dives based on your interest. This can range from the Fish Identification Dive, the Night Dive, the Multi-level Dive or even Enriched Air Dive from a wide selection of dives.

    Based on your choices you’ll be taken to those dive spots within the Gili Islands to embark on your dives. Each dive will last for 45 minutes and will enable you to swim up to a depth of 100 feet into the water.

    IMPORTANT: To take the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course, you must be a certified PADI Open Water Diver.

    Destination

    A popular destination for beach lovers in Indonesia, the Gili Islands comprise of 3 small islands that lie on the coast of the northwest Lombok Island in Bali. For your PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course, based on your choice of dive electives combined with ocean current, weather and tide conditionsm, you’ll be taken to 5 of the best dive spots within these islands. Once you’re underwater some of the fish you can expect to see are Angel fish, puffer fish, reef sharks, turtles, cuttlefish, scorpion fish, eels, manta rays, crabs, shrimp, octopus and more.

    For this trip you’ll catch the boat from the harbor just outside the dive centre and sail to your dive spots by a traditional non ac jukung style boat that can accommodate up to 28 people. No meals are provided during this course, but as the dive centre is a part of a resort, you can easily pick-up something from its multi-cuisine restaurant.

    Cancellation policy

    For cancellations made on the depature day of PADI AOWD course: 75% refund of the trip cost.

    For cancellations made after completing the pool session: 50% refund of the trip cost.

    No show: No refund.

    All refunds will be processed after deducting a transaction fee of INR 500 per person. This fee is charged by The Great Next.

    To undertake the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course in the Gili Islands you must be a certified PADI Open Water Diver.

    The minimum age to undertake the PADI Advanced Open water Diver course in the Gili Islands is 12 years.

    For the PADI Advanced Open water Diver course in the Gili Islands there are no more than 4 divers per guide.

    The cost for the Government Marine Park fee is INR 550 per person.

    For this trip underwater photos/videos can be provided at INR 2260 for a single person, INR 1850 per person for a group of 2 and INR 1050 per person for a group of 4 or more.

    Travelers from outside Indonesia are requested to carry enough cash in the local currency to cover tips for staff and other incidental expenses for the PADI Advanced Open water Diver coursein the Gili Islands.

    All prices displayed are subject to fluctuations based on international currency exchange rates at the time of booking. Accordingly, prices may be subject to a foreign currency premium/discount at the time of booking.

  • Day 1 of the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course in the Gili Islands: Deep and Navigation Dives

    Eat a healthy breakfast and arrive at the dive centre in Gili Trawangan by 10:00 hrs. On the first day of the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course, you'll undergo a quick revision of your dive skills before heading out to the sea.

    Home to some gorgeous dive sites, you'll sail to 2 of the best dive spots to master your dive skills and techniques through the 2 compulsory dives of Deep and Underwater Navigation. Each of these dives last for 45 minutes and take you as deep as 100 feet into the water under the guidance and supervision of your PADI instructor.

    At the end of your dives you'll return back to the boat that will drop you back to the dive centre. From the dive centre you'll then make your way back to your hotel.

    Day 2 of the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course in the Gili Islands: 3 Dive electives and certifi

    Follow the same routine as the previous day and reach the Dive Centre by 10:00 hrs. As it the second day of the PADI Advanced Open water Diver course you'll get to choose your focus areas and based on that select your dive electives. These range from Drift Diver. Dive against Debris. Enriched Air, Fish Identification. Multi-level Dive, Night Dive, Peak Performance Buoyancy, Underwater Digital Photography and Underwater Naturalist to name a few. Out of these once you select your 3 dive electives, you'll be taken to those dive spots around the Gili Islands to embark on your dives.

    At the end of your dives you'll return to the dive centre where you'll fill out your log book and collect your certificate! Congrats! You are now a certified PADI Advanced Open Water Diver. Make your way back to your hotel. Your course ends here.
