  • Trip introduction

    Become a certified open water diver with the 3-day Open Water Diver course in Padangbai, Bali. On this course, you will complete world's most popular diving course: the PADI Open Water Diver; you will take 4 dives in open water for a duration of 45 minutes each to a depth of 60 feet. You will also spend the first day attending introductory sessions, where you will learn the basics of scuba diving including a pool session. On the third day, your swimming skills will be tested. Upon successful completion, you will receive a PADI Open Water Diver certification.

    Padangbai is one of the best destinations in the world for scuba diving. It is a small coastal town, home to a rich variety of coral reefs and marine species. The water here has good visibility and mild ocean currents, which makes it a perfect destination to learn scuba diving. The waters also have a healthy and diverse marine life, which ranges from soft to hard coral reefs including large sea fans, feather stars, etc. and unique fish species including reef sharks, mola mola, angelfish, frogfish, clown fish, sea horses and sometimes even octopi. This variety does not only make this trip educational but also adventurous.

    Rules on the trip

    Divers are required to adhere to instructions of the dive instructor during the Open Water Diver Course in Bali.

    Consumption of alcohol and drugs is strictly prohibited during the trip.

    Divers are requested to treat the local culture with respect and avoid littering, defacing property and monuments and causing general disturbance.

    Please allow 12 hours between the end of your diving session and your return flight to allow your body to recover.

    Cancellation policy

    For cancellations made more than 30 days before your scheduled OWD course in Bali: 50% refund.

    For cancellations made less than 30 days before your scheduled OWD course in Bali: no refund.

    In case of no show: no refund.

    All refunds will be processed after deducting a transaction fee of INR 500 per person. This fee is charged by The Great Next.

    Additional instructions, booking policies, terms and conditions

    Travellers from outside Indonesia are requested to carry enough cash in the local currency to cover any personal or incidental expenses.

    Divers are required to have prior experience in swimming. As part of the dives, you will be expected to swim for about 600 feet and float in open water for 10 minutes.

    A few days before the course begins, divers will be sent PADI e-learning material that can be used to get a head start before the course begins.

    The diver is responsible for returning the equipment in good condition. The diver further undertakes to pay for any loss and/or damage to the equipment provided to them.

    The tour operator reserves the right to alter or cancel the itinerary of this scuba diving trip in Bali due to any unforeseen circumstances to ensure maximum safety of travellers and staff. Costs arising due to such a change in itinerary are borne by the traveller.

    The operators and the diving instructors do not accept responsibility for any injury, death, sickness, loss, damage, additional expense or inconvenience, directly or indirectly caused by or arising out of the use or condition of performing diving activity, using diving equipment or otherwise and exceptional weather conditions.

    Divers must agree to discontinue diving if respiratory congestion or a head cold or any other medical condition occurs before or during the dive.

    Today, you will report at the Dive Centre in Padangbai and begin your training. You will get course introduction and confined water training in a swimming pool and you will learn about the theory behind scuba diving. No open water dives today.

    Day 2 of the OWD course in Padangbai, Bali: 2 open water dives

    Today, you will report to the dive centre from where you will be taken for 2 open water dives at the dive sites. You will return to the dive center in the early afternoon and attend a theory session.

    Day 3 of the OWD course in Padangbai, Bali: 2 open water dives

    Today is the final day of your training. You will report at the dive centre, from where you will be taken to the dive sites for 2 open water dives. In the afternoon, you will give an exam at the dive centre. Upon completion, you will receive the PADI Open Water Diver certificate.
