The Vikatgad fort (also known as Peb fort) is a moderate trek that fit beginners will find quite easy. You'll be walking through tropical forests, past waterfalls bordered by mossy rocks, and scrambling over ridges and rocks. There are some steep cliffs and ravines along the route, and you'll love the adrenaline buzz that you get as you navigate these tricky sections.
This short trek offers you great views from the top, and you'll be able to see the incredible Irshalgad fort, Prabalgad fort, and Malangad fort around you. You'll also catch glimpses of Matheran in the distance, but you'll be far away from the crowds, in your own green paradise.
Standing at an altitude of 2100 feet, the Vikatgad Fort is situated in the hilly, forested regions of Matheran, in Maharashtra. It is about 4 kms from Neral village, and will whisk you away into fresh, crisp air and the sounds of nature all around. At the top of the fort, you'll have crumbling ruins to explore, from ancient gateways, to a temple and a water cistern.

You'll have to catch the Karjat Fast Local departing from CST station at 06:10 hrs to get to Neral station by 08:00 hrs. You'll eat breakfast while the team does a round of introductions, and then catch local transport to the start point of the trek. By 10:00 hrs, you'll begin the trek. It'll take about 3.5 hrs to get to the top, where you'll eat your packed lunch and explore the top for a while. By 15:30 hrs, you'll proceed onwards to Dasturi Naka in Matheran, and then will be dropped off by local transport to Neral. Trip ends here.

You will be driven from Neral station to the start point of the trek, and then back from Dasturi Naka to Neral station again. You'll be provided with a light breakfast and then snacks in the evening, but you should carr ya hearty packed lunch, and lots of snack items to much on.

If cancellation is done 5-10 days prior to the start of the Vikatgad Fort trek: 50% will be refunded.
If the cancellation is done 0-5 days before the start of the Vikatgad Fort trek: No refund.

If you wish to transfer your booking to someone else, or reschedule to another date, the cancellation policy will apply, and only the applicable refund amount will be transferred or rescheduled.
Smoking cigarettes, chewing tobacco or consuming alcohol is strictly prohibited on the Vikatgad trek.
You must stick with your group at all times.
No damage should be inflicted on monuments or natural environments.
You must adhere to the instructions of the trek leader at all times during the Vikatgad trek.
Taking photos or selfie near the edges are not allowed.
Participants are requested to carry trash back to the city and dispose it in dustbins.
