• Trip introduction

Trekking to the delightful Parashar Lake is one of the best weekend adventures in Himachal Pradesh. The trail passes through a thick forest of rhododendron and oak trees, and a few babbling rivulets are also discovered along the way. Enjoy the local culture as you will be passing through a few villages en route. This trek to Parashar Lake offers stunning views of Dhuladhar, Pir Panjal and Kinnaur mountain ranges. In winter, during the months January-March, the lake is frozen and the surrounding of the lake is covered with a blanket of ice, making the whole landscape a spectacular sight to behold.

You will be spending a night camping on the banks of Parashar Lake, and start descending the next day.

This trek to Parashar Lake is an easy weekend adventure and is suitable for first-timers as well.

Parashar Lake, situated at an elevation of 9000 feet above sea level, is a beautiful still water lake located amidst Dhauladhar ranges in the Kullu valley of Himachal Pradesh. The lake is named after a sage who lived and meditated on the banks of the lake. An aesthetic, three-storied temple is built in the honour of Parashar Rishi, alongside the lake. Parashar Lake is accessible throughout the year, however, during the months July-September, the surrounding of the lake is flourishing with greenery blossoming flowers, and covered with a thick blanket of snow from January to mid-March.
