    This rafting expedition offers you a chance to go rafting in the wild rapids of the Kali river in Uttarakhand, and camp at night on pristine river beaches. You'll take on Grade II and III rapids, and see some of the most gorgeous territory in the region.

    In the calmer sections of the river, you'll be able to take swims, splash about, and enjoy paddling. At night, you'll retreat into your tents, pitched on the shores of the river, surrounded by magnificent views of the mountains and forests of the lower Himalayas.

    IMPORTANT: Do make sure you plan your arrival in Rudrapur early in the morning. This gives you the whole day to enjoy the campsite experience at Pancheshwar.

    Destination

    Away from the popular hotspots, the Kali River flows down from the glaciers of Himalayas, along the Indo-Nepal border in Uttarakhand. This rafting expedition will take you along that route, with India on the right and Nepal on the left. Apart from challenging rapids at every turn, you'll encounter some of the most beautiful landscapes of Terai jungles, overflowing with rare birds and alpine wildlife.

  • Day 1 of the Kali River rafting expedition: Kathgodam to Pancheswar

    Arrive at Kathgodam railway station by early morning. Travellers are advised to take the Ranikhet Express to reach the pick-up on time. From Kathgodam, you'll board a private, shared vehicle and travel to the start point of this Kali River rafting expedition. This 7-hr drive will take you through the mountains of Uttarakhand, across gorgeous landscapes of forest-covered slopes. You'll arrive at your destination of Pancheswar, a campsite by the confluence of the Saryu and Kali rivers, by late afternoon. Overnight in tents at Pancheswar.

    Arrive at Kathgodam railway station and travel to the start point of the Kali River rafting expedition. You'll be accommodated in dome tents at Pancheswar on twin-sharing basis. You'll be given comfortable sleeping bags to ensure a restful night's sleep. Today's meal package includes only dinner, but you'll stop at restaurants and eateries en route to Pancheswar to have meals at your own expense.

    For cancellations made more than 10 days before departure of the Kali River rafting expedition: 75 % refund.

    For cancellations made between 5-10 days before departure of the Kali River rafting expedition: 50% refund.

    For cancellations made less than 5 days before departure of the Kali River rafting expedition: no refund.

    In case of no show: no refund.

    All refunds will be processed after deducting a transaction fee of INR 200 per person. This fee is charged by The Great Next.

    Rules on trip

    Travellers are required to follow instructions of the rafting instructor during the Kali River rafting expedition.

    Consumption of alcohol, drugs, tobacco products and cigarettes is strictly prohibited during the expedition.

    Travellers are requested to treat the local culture with respect and avoid littering, defacing property and monuments and causing general disturbance.

    Additional instructions, booking policies, terms and conditions

    Travellers are required to sign an indemnity/disclaimer form before beginning the Kali River rafting expedition.

    Travellers will be rafting to remote areas of Uttarakhand, where availability of services is limited. Accordingly, travellers are requested to moderate their expectations of comfort and luxury.

    Travellers will be expected to lend a hand and help the support crew in camp activities like setting up tents and collecting wood. These activities are considered essential to an authentic expedition experience.

    The tour operator takes utmost care to ensure safety of the travellers and shall not be held responsible for any mishap, accident or loss of life during the Kali River rafting expedition.

    The tour operator reserves the right to cancel or alter the itinerary of the rafting expedition depending upon the weather conditions and other factors. If extra costs are incurred due to changes in the itinerary, they will be borne by the traveller.
