Experience the rustic countryside of Nepal through this enriching 2-day Sun Koshi River rafting trip. Combining the fun of rafting with the joy of camping – this journey takes you deep into Nepal’s wilderness, exposing you to different landscapes, many local villages and the simple way of life.
During the day, you’ll raft through Sun Koshi’s raging waters whilst battling rapids of grades III and IV. From passing along tiny villages you’ll even spot the ancient Kusheswor Temple and the Majhee Gaun where you’ll witness local fishermen catching fish.
Due to the non-strenuous nature of these waters – this trip is ideal for first-timers as it gives you the perfect mix of easy to complex rapids with enough time to master the art of battling them. For seasoned rafters, it is great to brush up on your rafting skills.
Sun Koshi is a trans-boundary river that meanders through the hilly regions of Nepal. In Nepali Sun Koshi also means ‘River of Gold’ due to the small quantities of gold that is found in its sands.
Known as a popular destination amongst rafting enthusiasts, the route of this river begins with a gradual gradient and then upgrades to a tougher one as your journey progresses. Besides its route, it is also known to possess some breathtaking natural beauty along its banks, not to mention a number of small villages.

Arrive at the office in Thamel by 06:00 hrs sharp for 06:30 hrs departure. You'll depart for Dolalghat via private transport. Once you reach you'll first help to set up the rafting equipment followed by undergoing a thorough briefing about the use of equipment and safety tips. After this, you'll hit the waters of Sun Koshi and enjoy some thrilling rafting. At the start you'll have a smooth ride with few rapids such as Meat Grinder and Punch etc however towards the end of today's rafting session you'll have beaten many Grade III rapids. You'll conclude your journey at Pachuwarghat where you'll also set up your camp. Spend the rest of your day relaxing. When night falls you'll surround a warm bonfire and share your stories before retiring into your tents for a good night's sleep.

You'll begin your journey from the office in Thamel, Kathmandu from where you'll be driven to Dolalghat via private transport. From Dolalghat you'll begin your rafting session towards Pachuwarghat. No meals are included in today's package. Please to carry some packed meals and adequate snacks. In the evening you'll surround a warm bonfire and at night you'll be accommodated in comfortable twin or double sharing tents that are equipped with simple mattresses and comfortable sleeping bags.
