Pune Railway Station is one of the best-known landmarks in the city and can be reached by bus or train.
The Rajmachi trek is quite a challenging one, but its even more fun when you do it in the night! You'll be trekking with the light of the moon, and will get to see all kinds of nocturnal wildlife. It's a totally different experience from a regular day trek.
You'll get to explore the twin forts of Shrivardhan and Manoranjan, and will camp in a cave at the top. It's a totally wild monsoon weekend!
NOTE: Participants from Mumbai can join the group directly at Lonavala station at 16:30 hours. The cost for Mumbai trekkers will be INR 720 per person, and does not include the return train tickets to Lonavala.
Located in the Karjat region of Maharashtra, the Rajmachi trek takes you to two forts, Shrivardhan and Manoranjan, built by the warrior-king Shivaji during the 17th century. The fort was built to watch over the historical trade route of Borghat, and there are caves and ancient ruins to explore at the top. In the monsoon, there are rain-drenched views in all directions, and lush forests to explore.

You will meet the operator at Pune Railway Station by 14:00 hours and board the train to Lonavala. From Lonavala station, you will be driven to Tungarli Dam, where your trek begins. It will be about 17:00 hrs when you begin, and you'll get to see the sun setting and watch darkness fall as you ascend. It will be about 22:00 hrs when you stop for dinner at the base of Rajmachi. After dinner, you'll climb up to the peak and will get to the top by about 23:30 hrs. After exploring the top and enjoying the feeling of being on top of the world, you will retire to the caves for the night. Overnight in caves.

You will be staying overnight in the caves surrounding the forts at Rajmachi. Make sure to carry sleeping bags or a mat to make it a comfortable stay. Keep your torch, water bottle and light snacks handy.

Taking photos or selfies near the edges of cliffs or waterfalls is strictly not allowed.
Participants are requested to carry their trash back to the city or the station and dispose of it in dustbins.
