Night trek to Rajmachi

The trek to Rajmachi is a double delight, where participants get a chance to explore two beautiful forts - Shrivardhan and Manoranjan, on one weekend. The trip includes an overnight homestay with some delicious local Maharashtrian cuisine.

A moderately challenging trek, the route for the trek is not too steep and the challenge lies in stamina owing to the length of the route. This trek is perfect for fit beginners and seasoned trekkers alike.

IMPORTANT: Participants need to reach the pick-up point at 5.15 p.m. sharp. Trip inclusions only cover the transport costs from Lonavala railway station (meeting point) to Karjat railway station (drop-off point).

Destination

Rajmachi is a quaint village in the Karjat region of Maharashtra. Rajmachi peak has two fortified structures - the Shrivardhan fort and Manoranjan forts, built by the warrior-king Shivaji during the 17th century. Situated 17 km from Lonavala, the fort was a strategic one, overlooking Borghat which was a historical trade route. The monsoons are a good time to visit Rajmachi, when the entire route is covered in a blanket of green with patches of wildflowers.
