    Rajmachi is one of the best loved trek routes in Maharashtra. It is a 2-day trek that requires high endurance levels, but is perfect for a monsoon adventure. With lush green meadows, high waterfalls, and dozens of species of flora and fauna, Rajmachi will be an unforgettable experience.

    The fortification at Rajmachi consists of two forts, Shrivardhan and Manoranjan. Rajmachi is the base village for both these forts. After exploring both these forts, you'll also get to visit the the Kondane caves near Karjat. With overnight accommodation at a home-stay, this trek also offers a good local and cultural experience.

    IMPORTANT: This is a high-endurance trek and is suitable for experienced trekkers, or very fit first-timers.


    Rajmachi is a small village in the rugged mountains of Sahyadri in Maharashtra. There are two trek routes to Rajmachi village. One starts from Lonavala and the other starts at the foothills of Kondane caves near Karjat. This particular trek starts at Lonavala, and ends at Karjat.

  • Day 1: Head to Rajmachi Village

    Do make sure you reach Lonavala railway station by 17:00 hrs. After a brief introduction and orientation session, your group will take an auto-rickshaw to Tungarli dam. You begin your trek from here, watching the forest come alive with the sounds of the night. It's a thrilling experience that you won't forget easily. By about 22:00 hrs, you'll reach Rajmachi village, where you can settle into your home-stay accommodation, freshen up, and enjoy a simple but delicious dinner. Overnight at the home-stay.

    It is mandatory that you visit your personal physician before enrolling for the trip if you suffer from any illness of any kind and disclose the same and your medical history to the organizers of the trip.

    In case of accidents, the operator will arrange for the injured patron to be taken to the nearest medical hospital wherever possible. The medical expenses will have to be borne by the patrons themselves.
