  • Just as the summer heat gets unbearable, the monsoon arrives. And it brings with it the immense thrill of waterfall rappelling in Maharashtra. During the rainy season, many of the locations for rock climbing in Maharashtra turn into waterfall rappelling spots. Some of the destinations to check out waterfall rappelling in Maharashtra include Lonavala, Panshet, and Karjat.

    Waterfall rappelling in Maharashtra: Lonavala

A couple of hours away from Mumbai and Pune, Lonavala is a popular getaway from the big cities. The Dudhiware waterfall is located close to Lonavala, in the middle of the Western Ghats. The whole region lights up with the beauty of nature during the monsoon, turning green and misty within the first few rains. The rivers swell and the waterfalls grow stronger. Dudhiware waterfall stands tall at 135 feet, and gives you a thrilling adventure activity for the rainy season.

    Waterfall rappelling in Maharashtra: Panshet

Rappelling in Maharashtra takes you beyond the metro city of Mumbai. Head to Panshet on the beautifully green Lavasa- Panshet route. This waterfall rappelling adventure sends you over the ridge of a 165-foot waterfall, with a harness and rope to keep you safe. The water jets down over you, drenching you and making it difficult to keep your balance. It's a real battle between you and the waterfall!

    Waterfall rappelling in Maharashtra: Karjat

Karjat is absolutely gorgeous during the monsoons, and this lush paradise comes alive for those wanting to have a go at water rappelling in Maharashtra. This is an easy activity that's just right for both newbies and seasoned rappellers looking for a refreshing monsoon break. Standing at 75 feet, the Bekare waterfall is the perfect destination to enjoy a thrilling rappelling session and relax afterwards by the waterfall.

Waterfall rappelling in Maharashtra: Bekre Falls + ziplining

The Bekare waterfall stands in the small, picturesque town of Bhivpuri. Standing only at 75 feet tall, this rappelling session will have you gliding down. Aside from rappelling here, you could also give ziplining a go. All more the reason to sign up!

What to carry for your waterfall rappelling trip in Maharashtra

Avoid carrying any valuables, but if you must take your phone, ensure that you give it to someone to keep safe when it’s your turn for waterfall rappelling. Carry a change of dry clothes and socks, as well as a light towel, all safely packed in a plastic bag.

When to go waterfall rappelling in Maharashtra

The only season for waterfall rappelling in Maharashtra is during the monsoon. It is at this time that the streams and rivers run full, and all the plateaus drain rainwater into waterfalls at the cliffs.

'We have availed the service from TGN for our family trip to Andaman & Nicobar Islands in January 2018................We are superbly amazed to have chosen TGN.. Our first day at Port Blair was really amazing with the visits to the North Bay, the Ross Islands, the Corbyn's Cove Beach, the Cellular Jail.. This was fun filled with the first time experiences in Snorkeling & Jet Skiing. Our Second day included the visits to Cellular Jail, Marine Museum, Anthropological Museum, Chatham Saw Mill and expedition to Havelock Island. Third day was again fun filled including visits to Radhnagar Beach and Scuba Diving. Fourth day included the super amazing experience of Kayaking and expedition to Neil Island. This also included the visits to Natural Howrah Bridge at Neil and the glorious sunset at the Laxmanpur Beach. The fifth day included the Glass Bottom Boat ride in the heavenly views at the Neil all surrounded with the Corals and Marine world and way back to Port Blair with handful of souvenirs. The last day we were back from the serene world with a lot of memories. We really appreciate the hospitality and the friendliness of all the tour managers and the guides at all the stages of our trip. All the bookings were really taken a great care of at all the stages. Our stay was really comfortable with all the good hotels especially at the Neil Island. We would like to give all our credits to Mr Rahul from TGN for really been the superb planner due to which our trip has turned out to be the most memorable one. We have really bothered him at all the stages and he had been very patiently handling all our arrangements. We owe our trip to him and really appreciate and Thank him for everything. Thank You Rahul. We would be ready again to travel with TGN..... You guys simply rock.....Good Luck.'
