  • Trip introduction

    The beautiful Vichitragad fort is covered with lush greenery in the monsoon. Perfect for a quick weekend getaway, this trek is a relatively easy one, and is fit for trekking newbies.

    NOTE: This is a one-day trek that includes tea and breakfast. Participants need to carry their own lunch.

    Destination

    Rohida or Vichitragad fort is situated about 15 kms from Bhor village, in the Pune district of Maharashtra. The fort stands bare in the summer and winter months, but is lush and abundant with flora in the monsoon. The torrent winds at the top of the fort are quite refreshing and can be a welcome change for trekkers. Trekkers can explore the fort which is home to an old temple, water tanks, Chor darvaja, Buruj (bastion) and a chuna grinding wheel.

    Rules on the trip

    Consumption of liquor, drugs, tobacco products, cigarettes etc. is strictly prohibited during the camp. The camp will be considered over only when we are back to our home town.

    There is a zero-tolerance policy for participants who litter, deface property or monuments, or cause general disturbance. Any flouting of these rules will be dealt with seriously, and may involve expulsion from the trek or camp, and no refund is admissible in such cases.

    Cancellation policy

    Refund Norms:

    90% refund if cancellation is made more than 10 days prior to the date of departure date of the event

    60% refund if cancellation is made more than 6 days (148 hours) and less than 10 days prior to the departure date of the event

    40% refund if cancellation is made more than 3 days (72 hours)and less than 6 days prior to the departure date of the event

    No refund will be made if a cancellation is made within 3 days prior to the departure date of the event.

    Additional instructions, booking policies, terms and conditions

    During the camps or treks, the participants shall abide by the instructions and decisions of the camp director.

    In case of any medical ailments, disorders etc. which the participants are suffering or have suffered from, it is his/her responsibility to inform the organizers in advance, before commencement of the camp or trek.

    In case of any medical problems, ailments, disorders etc. or symptoms of the same, arising during the camp or trek, the participant(s) shall inform the organizers about the same, at the earliest.

    If required, the participant(s) will have to take medical treatment from the doctor/attendant available on the campsite or from the nearest available medical center or hospital. The expenses for all medical treatment and arrangements for the same will be solely borne by the participant.

    In case of any injury, sickness, accident, death or any other casualty or loss or damage of valuables or luggage or any equipment; the supplier, its instructors, organisers, volunteers or any other person involved wholly or partially, either individually or jointly, shall not be responsible in any manner for the same and no claims of the participants, parents, guardians, relatives or friends of participants will be entertained.

    The operator will not be responsible for any losses incurred for any train/air/bus/taxi bookings, hotel bookings or extension to the camp done by clients/participants (either independently or through the operator) due to cancellation of the event. Fees accepted as event charges only will be refunded.

  • Day 1: Pune - Bajarwadi -Pune

    Participants meet at the main gate of Fergusson college and depart from Pune at 6 a.m. They reach Bhor at around 9.15 a.m. and enjoy a light breakfast.

    Participants begin trekking to the top of Vichitragad fort by 10.30 a.m., and reach the temple atop the fort by around 12.15 p.m.

    After lunch, participants explore the various nooks and crannies of the fort.

    Participants begin their descent at 2 p.m. and reach the base village by 3.30 p.m. They then begin their return journey and reach Pune by 8 p.m.
