    A trek that often ranks in lists of difficult treks in India, the Rupin Pass trek certainly compensates with spectacular views of the Kinnaur Kailash mountains and the Sangla valley. For 8 days in the Himalayan wilderness, you'll hike under dark and dusky forests, climb tricky intersections over rocky mountain trails, make your way across sprawling acres of snow and camp under the stars on peaceful nights. Beginning from the hillside village of Sankri, this high-altitude trek will take you alongside the Rupin river and across the Rupin pass to conclude in the town of Sangla.

    NOTE: A minimum of 6 travellers are required to book this trek to Rupin Pass.

    Rupin Pass is a high-altitude, mountain pass located at an altitude of 15,250 feet in the Dhauladhar range. The pass, as well as the route to access the pass, is often layered with thick snow, especially in the months of winter, requiring the use of ice axes. The trek to Rupin Pass, one of the celebrated adventures in the Indian trekking community, takes travellers from Uttarakhand to Himachal Pradesh.

    Arrive in Sankri by late afternoon or early evening and check into a home-stay. Spend the day at leisure. Overnight in a home-stay at Sankri.

    For cancellations made 31 days or more before departure of the Rupin Pass trek: 90% refund.

    For cancellations made 16-30 days before departure of the Rupin Pass trek: 50% refund.

    For cancellations made less than 16 days before departure of the Rupin Pass trek: No refund.

    In case of no show: no refund.

    All refunds will be processed after deducting any transaction charges.

    Rules on trip

    Travellers are required to adhere to instructions of the trek leader during the trek to Rupin Pass.

    Travellers are requested to treat the local culture with respect and avoid littering, defacing property and monuments and causing general disturbance.

    Consumption of alcohol and drugs is strictly prohibited during the trek to Rupin Pass. Consumption of tobacco products and cigarettes is not recommended either.

    Additional instructions, booking policies, terms and conditions

    This trek to Rupin Pass takes travellers to destinations at altitudes from 11,000 ft to 15,000 ft, with no cellular connectivity and limited access to basic services. Travellers are requested to take such conditions into consideration before booking the trek.

    Due to unpredictable or unsuitable weather, the trek leader may decide to skip Day 4 and trek from Jhaka to Dhanteras Thatch directly, depending on the fitness ability of the travellers. This may be done to allow for a buffer day at the end.

    Travellers will be required to bear any additional costs arising due to unforeseen circumstances such as bad weather, road blocks etc.

    The tour operator reserves the right to cancel or alter the itinerary of the trek to Rupin Pass to maximize the safety of travellers as well as staff.
