Trek to Sandhan Valley

Sandhan Valley is a canyon in the Sahyadris, also known as the Valley of Shadows because, in some places, the sides narrow so much that sunlight cannot enter.

This 200 feet deep valley was carved by water, and is flanked by the massive forts of Alang, Madan and Kulang, amongst others.

There is no ascent during this trek - instead it takes you along the valley floor for about 7 hours.

There may be some amount of rock-climbing or rappelling involved in this trek.

Destination

The Western Ghats or Sahyadris are a World Heritage Site, famous for the ecological diversity here. With thousands of flora and fauna species exlcusive to this region, any trek through this area involves plenty of interaction with nature.

Your safety is our priority. Our outdoor leaders have significant experience with outdoor activities and work very hard to make each event a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone. A basic first-aid box is always available during one day/overnight treks.

We believe in enjoying adventure activity, but also in being responsible. Even as participants, one is responsible towards the environment, camp site, and the local villagers. At Treks and Trails, we try to ensure that there is local participation at our events as this generates revenue for them. We also need to ensure that there is no littering along the trek trail or in any monuments/forts that we visit.
