PADI Open Water Diver (OWD) Course

The PADI Open Water Diver Course is your doorway to an incredible new world of iridescent marine life, sprawling coral reefs and mysterious shipwrecks. Become a certified diver with an internationally recognized license to dive anywhere in the world.

The course follows a gradual progression of skill development allowing students to get comfortable in shallow water before practicing skills in an open water environment.

Destination

This 4-day certification course will teach you the fundamentals of diving through a mixture of theory (5 modules), 2 days of shallow water skills training, equipment orientation and troubleshooting techniques, 5 confined water dives and 4 open water dives with water skills exercises.

Our dive sites are located in Chidiya Tapu, south of Port Blair, which is a has a lush and pristine heritage of natural wonders. The outer edges of the Mahatma Gandhi Marine National Park and the islands of Rutland and Cinque have a number of potential dive sites yet to be explored.

The first day is mostly theoretical where we learn the basics of diving, and progress through orientations of the equipment. We familiarise ourselves with the overall apparatus used and learn more about the safety precautions that need to be kept in mind during open-water diving.

This day marks the end of our training, and the day we receive our certification. The Open Water Diver certification is valid worldwide and does not require renewal. We now have a lifelong license to explore the vast ocean, teeming with marine life.
