PADI Scuba Diver course with standard hut stay

Spend 4 days in the tropical Andaman islands, live in quaint hut-style accommodation close to the beach, and take your first steps in scuba diving. The PADI Scuba Diver course gives you the basic skills needed to dive deep into the hidden world of coral reefs and tiny fishes. You'll learn the theory of diving, both by video and self-study, and practice your skills in shallow water. By the end of the course, you'll be completed 2 open water dives of 45 minutes each, under the supervision of a certified dive instructor, to earn your PADI Scuba Diver credentials.

During this 4-day trip in the Andamans, you'll be staying in a comfortable hut-style accommodation, built for people who want a no-frills, simple stay option.

Destination

The Andaman Sea offers one of the highest counts of fish and coral species on the planet. You'll be swimming alongside a mind-boggling array of fish and a profusion of healthy, colourful coral. For this course, your dive center is placed on Beach #3 of the Havelock Island, a heaven for scuba divers in the Andaman belt. You'll have plenty of time to get comfortable in the scuba equipment, and you won't be rushed to complete the course if you're not ready.

Your resort is close to a white, sandy beach that offers hours and hours of sun, sea and sand. You'll stay in standard hut-style accommodation, located just a short walk away from the beach. The room is equipped with comfortable bedding and a rack to keep your luggage.

Plan to arrive at Port Blair in the first half of the day, so you can travel to Havelock Island on the same day. On arrival at your dive center, you'll check in to your standard huts. Spend the rest of the day at leisure. You can visit the beach and take a dip in the sea or explore the rest of Havelock Island. Overnight in a standard hut at Havelock Island.

Island Vinnie's Tropical Cabanas

You'll be staying at Island Vinnie's, in simple, no-frills standard huts, built a short walk away from the beach. Apart from scuba diving, you can also go kayaking, explore the mangrove forests on a nature trek, or visit cafes to taste authentic seafood. Day 1 Milestone

Today, you'll begin your scuba diving course at the dive center. You'll meet your dive instructor and begin with an introduction to the basic skills and techniques of scuba diving. You'll work with your dive instructor in shallow water to practice your skills and get comfortable wearing the scuba equipment. When you're ready, you'll head out to a dive spot in the Andaman Sea to complete one open water dive of 45 minutes. Your dive instructor will be present throughout the dive to guide you. Return back to the dive center by late afternoon. Overnight in a standard hut at Havelock Island.

Today, you begin your first day of the Scuba Diver course. While no meals are included in this package, you can visit any of the restaurants on Havelock Island, including the in-house restaurant at the resort, for meals at your own expense.

Day 2 Milestone

Continue perfecting your skills as you put some finishing touches to your dive technique. You'll perform a few exercises in the shallow water and train with your dive instructor to cement your understanding. Once again, when you're ready, you'll take a boat ride to a dive spot in the Andaman Sea to undertake another open water dive of 45 minutes. Return back to the dive center by late afternoon and complete the paperwork for your certification. Overnight in a standard hut at Havelock Island.

Island Vinnie's Tropical Cabanas

You'll be staying at Island Vinnie's, in simple, no-frills standard huts, built a short walk away from the beach. Apart from scuba diving, you can also go sightseeing, explore the beaches of Havelock, or book a snorkelling trip to continue your explorations of the sea. However, none of these activities are included in your package for scuba diving in Havelock.

Cancellation policy

For cancellations made 30 days or more before departure of the scuba diving course in Andaman: 100% refund.

For cancellations made between 15-29 days before departure of the scuba diving course in Andaman: 50% refund.

For cancellations made less than 15 days before departure of the scuba diving course in Andaman: no refund.

In case of no show: no refund.

All refunds will be processed after deducting any transaction charges.

Rules on trip

Travellers are required to follow instructions of the dive instructor during the PADI Scuba Diver course.

Consumption of alcohol and drugs is strictly prohibited during the course. Consumption of tobacco products and cigarettes is not recommended.

Travellers are requested to treat the local culture with respect and avoid littering, defacing property and monuments and causing general disturbance.

Please allow 12 hours between the end of your last dive and your return flight to allow your body to recover.

Additional instructions, booking policies, terms and conditions

Travellers are requested to note that the accommodation is at an eco-friendly resort that does not have room service, television or air-conditioning.

Travellers will be sent a medical questionnaire after confirmation of the booking. According to the answers to these questions, travellers may be required to get documented doctor's clearance allowing them to engage in scuba diving.

Travellers must agree to discontinue diving if respiratory congestion or a head cold or any other medical condition occurs during the course.

The tour operator reserves the right to alter or cancel the itinerary of this PADI Scuba Diver course due to bad weather conditions to ensure maximum safety of divers and staff.

Travellers are required to pass a test on their ability to swim for 200 metres and float for 10 minutes, as a part of the PADI Scuba Diver course.
