Murudeshwar is about 4 hours away from Mangalore Airport, but there are trains and buses that take you directly into Murudeshwar. The dive centres are usually on the beach, which is five minutes away from the railway station.
Murudeshwar has a long scuba season, stretching all the way from October to May. It can get hot at the start and end of this season, but that makes it more fun to jump into the water. Choose the winter months of November, December, and January for the best weather outside the dives. During the monsoon, scuba diving in Murdeshwar is stopped because the water gets rough.
