The SSI Open Water Diver course in the Phi Phi Islands is ideal for beginners. Divided over 3 days, you’ll learn diving theory and techniques, master underwater breathing and experience 4 exhilarating Open Water Dives.
The Phi Phi Islands are gifted with gorgeous dive spots and you’ll sail to these dive spots for your dives. Each dive lasts for 45 mins and takes you to a maximum depth of 60 feet. Throughout your dives you’ll have the guidance of your instructor. At the end, you’ll be a certified diver which will enable you to dive up to 60 feet anywhere in the world!
NOTE: For this course, you’ll be expected to know how to swim for 200 meters and float for 10 mins in the open water.
Destination
Located between the large island of Phuket and Straits of Malacca coast of Thailand, the Phi Phi islands comprise of a group of evergreen islands. Part of the Krabi province, these islands are identified by their limestone cliffs, white sand beaches and magnificent blue waters.
For this trip you’ll be taken to the Phi Phi Ley Island and the Bida Island for your dives. Based on ocean currents, weather and tide conditions, you’ll be taken to the best dive spots. Some fish you'll spot underwater consist of yellow snappers, turtles, zebra fish, whale sharks etc.
You’ll depart from the Tonsai Bay Pier and travel by a large non ac boat equipped with 3 open decks, 2 bathrooms and showers and seats for 30 passengers.

SSI Open Water Diver Course in the Phi Phi Islands Photos
Reach the dive centre by 07:30 hrs and begin the SSI Open Water Diver course with theory. This includes studying manuals and watching DVD's about scuba diving. You'll even have a quiz.
After learning theory in the afternoon you'll head out to the beach to learn diving and underwater breathing techniques in shallow waters.
After mastering the basics of Open Water Diving, you'll end the class for the day.
Return back to your hotel.

Reach the dive centre by 07:30 hrs and after a quick revision, head out to the pier to board the boat towards Phi Phi Ley dive spots.
Upon reaching, you'll embark on 2 dives that will take you to a maximum depth of 40 feet for 45 mins each. You'll practice your diving skills amongst fishes. Your instructor will be guiding you throughout.
At the end of the dives return to the dive centre to learn some more theory before concluding the class for the day.
Return back to the hotel.

Arrive at the dive centre by 07:30 hrs and travel to the Tonsai Bay pier to board the non ac boat towards Phi Phi Ley. With a maximum capacity of 30, the boat is equipped with 3 open decks, 2 bathrooms and showers. | Today's package includes an on-board lunch, tea/coffee, fresh fruits and water. For any veg or dietary food preferences, the operator should be informed before hand. | After your dives you'll return to the dive centre, before leaving for your hotel.

Follow the same routine as the previous day and depart for the Bida Islands for your remaining 2 dives.
As it will be your second day, you'll get to dive as deep as 60 feet into the water. Your dive instructor will be guiding you throughout as you practice your dive skills.
At the end of the dives, return to the dive centre to collect your certificate. Your course ends here. Return back to your hotel.
Your trip ends before nightfall.
You'll follow the same routine as the previous day. Once again your package includes on-board lunch, fresh fruits, tea/coffee and water. | At the end of your dives you'll return back to the dive centre to collect your certificate, before departing for your hotel. Your course ends here.
