    Skandagiri Night Trek

    Embark on this night trek to the fortress hill of Skandagiri and catch an exceptionally beautiful sunrise in Bangalore. The trail takes you through the dry, rocky patches of the hill up to the sunrise point and the ancient fort atop the hill. On the way, you will pass Papagni Mutt, which is one of the oldest mutts of Karnataka and a few caves. If you are lucky, you will get to see a blanket of clouds expanding towards the horizons from the summit of the hill.

    One of the most famous weekend destinations in the vicinity of Bangalore is Skandagiri Hill. It is a fortress hill which is also known as Kalavara Durga. It is located near Nandi Hills at an altitude of 4757 feet and is famous for its sunset point. The terrain of the hill is dry, mostly covered in bushes with patches of rocks. The trek is not challenging and is suitable for beginners.

    Skandagiri Night Trek Photos

    You will be picked up from the pick-up point at 22:15 hrs and driven to the base of Skandagiri Hill. Once there, you will have a brief campfire session after which you will begin your nigght trek to the hill top. Once at the top, you will explore the fortress and catch the sunrise.

    Post sunrise, you will begin your descent back to the base, where you will be treated with a delicious South Indian breakfast. After that, you will board the transit vehicle and leave for Bangalore. You will reach Bangalore by 12:00 hrs. Your trip ends here.

    Your trip ends before nightfall.

    All you can eat South Indian breakfast will be served to you once you come back to the base from the night trek. You will then be driven back to Bangalore.

    Cancellation policy

    For cancellations made more than 7 day before the start of the Skandagiri Night trek: 100% refund.

    For cancellations made 3-6 days before the start of the Skandagiri Night trek: 50% refund.

    For cancellations made less than 2 days before the start of the Skandagiri Night trek: No refund.

    In case of no show: No refund.

    All refunds will be processed after deducting a transaction fee of INR 200 per person. This fee is charged by The Great Next.

    Rules on trip

    Travellers are required to adhere to instructions of the trek leader during the Skandagiri Night trek.

    Travellers are requested to treat the local culture with respect and avoid littering, defacing property and monuments and causing general disturbance.

    Consumption of alcohol, drugs, tobacco products and cigarettes is strictly prohibited during the Skandagiri Night trek.

    Additional instructions, booking policies, terms and conditions

    Travellers can choose from 3 pick-up and drop-off points: Swad E Punjab in HSR Layout, New Shanti Sagar Hotel in Domlur, and St. Marks Cathedral in Ashok Nagar.

    The tour operator reserves the right to cancel or alter the itinerary of the Skandagiri Night trek to maximize the safety of travellers as well as staff.

    Travellers will be required to bear any additional costs arising due to unforeseen circumstances such as bad weather, road blocks etc.
