Trekking
This is a paragraph with little content.

This is another small paragraph.

  • Trip introduction

The Kuari Pass trek is perfect for those who want to experience the grandeur and majesty of the Himalayas. There's no half-ways on this trek. Every sight, every peak, every meadow - the scenery is larger than life, and makes for a dramatic trek that you'll never forget.

While this 5-day trek is not a difficult one, it takes you up to a pretty high altitude in a short time. This means you'll have some steep inclines to scale at your own pace. You'll be camping on snow, walking through snow, and playing in snow.

    Destination

Your trek takes you through some of the most gorgeous scenery in the Garhwal Himalayas. You'll also get to see how the winter completely transforms the green pine forests and the stark rock faces into sparkling white perfection.

Your trail takes you through charming villages and fields, and up into the quiet mountain meadows and forests. You'll eat lunch by streams and camp in meadows. All the way, you'll be surrounded by iconic peaks like Chaukhamba, Mt. Kamet, Neelkantha, and more.

    Destination highlights

    • Trek the famous Lord Curzon trail
    • Watch the sun rising over glittering snow-clad mountains.
    • Camp in the snow on this winter trek
    • Enjoy stunning views of the Himalayan ranges

  • Day 1: Arrive at Joshimath

You can arrive in Joshimath at any time during the day. You'll check into your hotel, freshen up, and you have the rest of the day to relax, walk about in Joshimath, or stock up on any last-minute essentials. In the evening, there's a team introduction session in the hotel.

    Day 2: Trek to Tali

Today you'll begin your trek to Tali. There's a short drive of about 30 minutes to the start point, through beautiful scenery. At Dhak, you'll eat a hearty breakfast, and then begin the ascent. The trail takes you past some beautiful Himalayan villages and fields, where you'll meet locals and see how life is led here. Tali is your campsite for the night. It is fringed with forests, and has a water source nearby. You may have to camp on snow here.

    Day 3: Kuari Pass day

You'll begin early today, heading up to Kuari Pass. Watch out for ice formations, or melted snow that has become slushy and slippery. The mountains around you are clearly visible, and with their caps of snow, they'll give you plenty to admire while you walk. Your guide will point out the big ones, and finally you get to the pass. You'll spend some time here, before returning to your campsite for the day.

    Day 4: Return to Auli

The day starts early today, and you'll climb up beyond the treeline. One of the most beautiful meadows in the mountains, Gurson Bugyal, lies here. In the winter, this is blanketed with fresh snow that beckons you. You'll also get spectacular views of the Lampak Massif, Dronagiri, and Nanda Devi from here. You'll stop at the Podiyar temple for a break, before heading to the Auli roadhead where vehicles are waiting for you. At Joshimath, you'll check into your hotel for the night. Enjoy your hot showers and comfortable beds, after days of camping.

    Day 5: Return to Haridwar

Today you'll have to check out in the morning. Your trip ends here, leaving you free to proceed onwards to your next destination.
