Snow trekking in Ladakh is an absolute spectacle. As soft white snow blankets the landscape of Ladakh, the temperature drops many points. While most of these treks are active throughout the year, the winter brings in more exquisiteness and a host of exciting experiences. The Chadar trek in Ladakh is the most well-known and is on every adventurer to-trek list. Here are snow treks Ladakh, you can’t afford to miss.

1. Chadar trek

The Zanskar river winds through the rocky gorges of Ladakh, and is a prime spot for whitewater rafting in the summer. The Chadar trek in Ladakh is held on the frozen river, when the ice resembles a sheet. Trekkers will walk along this frozen river, camp on the ice and trek past towering waterfalls that are frozen in mid-flow. As you trek you’ll witness breath-taking views of the majestic snow-clad peaks, hanging icicles, surreal landscapes, bleached rock faces, and weather-blackened trees. It’s one of the top snow treks in Ladakh.
