    Spiti Valley Road Trip (Ex-Delhi)

    On this 10-day Spiti Valley road trip, explore the surreal, scenic beauty of Spiti's barren landscapes and high mountains. You'll visit the 1,000-year old monastery at Key and stroll through one of the world's highest inhabited villages at Komic. Explore the bustling town of Kaza, the largest city in the valley, and visit Langza, where fossils are often uncovered by travellers. Send a postcard from the world's highest post office at Hikkim and spend a night under the Milky Way at Chandratal. You'll travel in a trusty Tempo Traveller and ride through the cold and desolate mountains, going as high as 15,000 feet.

    The Spiti Valley lies at the intersection of India and Tibet, and offers some of the best mountain views in the entire world. The barren mountains and the cold arid landscape of Spiti, in stark contrast to Manali's lush forests and meadows, is truly a heavenly sight. The valley is enclosed by towering snow-capped mountains that are home to some of the highest villages and roads in the world, such as like the villages of Komic or Hikkim and the roads at Rohtang-La and Kunzum-La.

    Spiti Valley Road Trip (Ex-Delhi) Photos

    You will be picked up from the Vidhan Sabha metro station at 18:30 hrs in a Volvo and settle in for the long drive to Aur. Overnight in transit.

    You will begin your overnight journey from Delhi to Aut in the evening. No meals will be provided today, so make sure to have dinner before reporting to the pick-up point. You'll spend the night travelling in a Volvo bus.

    You will arrive in Aut by morning, depart for Gushaini and check-in to the hotel. Have a hearty breakfast and freshen up before you head to explore the Choie waterfall.

    Wake up early to experience the gorgeous sun rise before you send the day exploring the village of Chitkul. You will depart for Kalpa by noon and reach by evening and check-in to the hotel. 

    Overnight in a hotel or tents at Kalpa.

    Every day, you'll stop at a restaurant or eatery at any of the destinations you're visiting to have lunch at your own expense.

    After an early breakfast you will depart for Kaza and enter the Spiti Valley via the Sumdo Border. Visit the Nako Tabo villages en route to Kaza. You will reach Kaza by the evening and check-in to the campsite where you will served a piping hot dinner.

Crossing Kunzum La Pass you will arrive at your campsite near the lake by evening. You'll visit the moon-shaped Chandratal lake for some time, before returning to your campsite for dinner and some star gazing. Overnight in campsite.

    Cancellation policy

    For cancellations made more than 30 days before departure of the Spiti Valley road trip: 50% refund.

    For cancellations made 15-30 days before departure of the Spiti Valley road trip: 25% refund.

    For cancellations made less than 15 days before departure of the Spiti Valley road trip: no refund.

    In case of no show: no refund.

    All refunds will be processed after deducting a transaction fee of INR 200 per person. This fee is charged by The Great Next.

    Rules on trip

    Travellers are required to follow instructions of the tour guide during the road trip.

    Travellers are requested to treat the local culture with respect and avoid littering, defacing property and monuments and causing general disturbance.

    Consumption of drugs is strictly prohibited during the road trip to Spiti Valley.

    Travellers are required to carry a driver's license and a valid government-issued photo ID.

    Additional instructions, booking policies, terms and conditions

    Travellers are requested to report at the pick-up point in Delhi by 18:30 hrs. Delay in arriving at the pick-up point may lead to missing the departure.

    The car's AC will be switched off during unsuitable road conditions, uphill travel on mountainous roads and waiting time.

    This road trip to Spiti Valley takes travellers to destinations at altitudes from 9,000 ft to 14,500 ft, with low cellular connectivity and limited access to services.

    The tour operator takes utmost care to ensure safety of the travellers and shall not be held responsible for any mishap or accident during the road trip to Spiti Valley.

    The tour operator reserves the right to change or cancel the itinerary of this trip due to bad weather conditions or other unforeseen circumstances to ensure maximum safety of travellers and staff.
