Embark on a trek to Sudhagad, one of the most exciting and adventurous treks in the Sahyadri mountains. In the wee hours of dawn, you'll begin trekking from the base village of Thakurwadi. With the rising sun on the horizon, you'll climb over mountain slopes, covered by densely overgrown forests. At the fort of Sudhagad, you can explore the old ruins of walls, temples, edifices and door-ways. If you're lucky, the morning mist will turn the landscape into a paradise for photographers and nature lovers.

Located close to the Kundalika Valley, a 2-hr drive away from Lonavala, the fort of Sudhagad is one of the best preserved forts of Maharashtra. After ascending to an altitude of over 2,000 feet to scale the fort, you'll get sunning views of the Mulshi Dam reservoir and the Ghangad Fort.
Sudhagad, once a contender to the massive fort of Raigad as the seat of the historic Maratha kingdom, is now a popular trekking destination in the Western Ghats. The fort houses a well-built temple of Bhorai Devi and the gigantic stone-made entrance called the Maha Darwaja.

Arrive at the Pritam Da Dhaba restaurant in Dadar East by 22:30 hrs. Here, you'll meet your fellow trekkers and board a private, shared bus or similar vehicle to the base village of the trek, Sondewadi village. You'll arrive at your destination after a by 06:00 hrs.

Day 2 of the trek to Sudhagad: Trek to Sudhagad and return
Arrive at the base village and take some time to rest till sun begins rising. Begin trekking uphill to misty, morning views of the Sahyadri mountains and reach Sudhagad by late morning.
You'll spend some time exploring the area and clicking photographs, before descending back to the base village on the same route. Travel back to Mumbai in a private, shared bus or similar vehicle. Subject to traffic conditions, you'll arrive at Dadar by 23:00 hrs.
Your trip ends by 23:00 hrs.
Today's meal package includes breakfast served at the base village before the trek and lunch served after reaching the top of Sudhagad fort. The trip ends as you travel back to Dadar by 23:00 hrs, subject to traffic conditions. Your trip ends here.

Rules on trip
Travellers are required to follow instructions of the trek leader during the trek to Sudhagad.
Consumption of alcohol, drugs, tobacco products and cigarettes is strictly prohibited during the trip.
Travellers are requested to treat the local culture with respect and avoid littering, defacing property and monuments and causing general disturbance.

Apart from the pick-up point at Pritam Da Dhaba in Dadar, travellers can also be picked-up from alternative pick-up points of Diamond Garden in Chembur at 23:30 hrs, near Vashi Plaza in Vashi at 23:45 hrs and the McDonalds in Kalamboli at 00:15 hrs, on day 2.
