Rafting
This is a paragraph with little content.

This is another small paragraph.

  • Trip introduction

The Sutlej river basin in Himachal Pradesh covers an area of about 6,553 square kilometers. On this trip we drop over 350 metres within the first two days, running continuous class 3+/4 rapids, and enjoying some truly amazing whitewater rafting opportunities. This is a challenging expedition with adrenaline-packed on offer.

IMPORTANT: This is not a fixed-departure trip and will require a minimum of 8 pax to make a booking.

    Destination

You can expect some dramatic landscapes on this expedition. The Satlej is one of only three trans-Himalayan rivers originating in the high Tibetan Plateau (near the Mansarovar lake) that cuts across the mighty Himalayan ranges - the Zanskar range, the Great Himalayan Range, and the Dhauladhar Range. It enters India through a fearsome gorge near the Shipki La.

Beginning our trip from Rampur Bushair, we drop over 350 metres in the first two days of running continuous Class 3+/4 rapids, and ending at Tattapani, 42 kms upstream of the massive Kol dam site, which will form a massive lake till Tattapani in the years to come.

    Destination highlights

    • Savour the thrill of running through class 4 white water rapids
    • Capture gorgeous views of the Himalayan landscape
    • Enjoy relaxed afternoons, spent hiking by the river

    Trip requirements

    Past Experience

Adventure activities, especially those graded as challenging or difficult typically involve some degree of cardiovascular fitness and strength. While not often mentioned as a prerequisite, being prepared for demands of adventure activity, enhances the experience by reducing physical stress, aids in injury prevention and accelerates recovery. Be it a trek or rafting expedition, being in good shape can only be better.

    Health conditions

Rafting does not require very high levels of fitness. Nearly anybody over 14 years of age can run nearly all rivers on offer. However, heart patients, pregnant women and persons with any other serious ailments should consult with their doctor before booking the trip.
