    The Tikona Fort trek offers a great chance to explore the ancient ruins of the historic hill fort and experience the breathtaking beauty of lush Sahyadris during monsoons. The trek cuts through rich greenery, over a mountain ridge, and rock-cut steps until you are greeted by the mammoth doors of the fort. At the fort top, you will explore the historic ruins, the Satvahan caves and the little temple there, along with mesmerizing views of Pawna Dam and other neighbouring forts of Visapur, Tung and Lohagad. This trek to Tikona Fort is moderately easy, making it suitable for fit beginners as well as experienced trekkers.

    Destination

    The Tikona Fort is a major hill fort in the Maval region near Lonavala and Kamshet, 60 kms from Pune. The fort derives its name from the triangular hill on which it has been constructed, and in the past, the fort served as the centre of many activities of the entire Maval-Pawna region.

  • Trek to the Tikona Fort!

    Report to Sanday Gandhi National Park at 05:50 hrs and board the bus that will take you to Tikona Peth. You'll reach there in a few hours and then begin your trek to the fort after a short briefing session. At the top, you'll explore the ancient ruins and enjoy the breathtaking views of Sahyadris. You'll then head back to the base village and board your bus back to Mumbai. You'll be dropped back in Mumbai by 21:30 hrs. Your trip ends here.

    You'll be picked up from Sanjay Gandhi National Park at 05:50 hrs. Today's meal package includes breakfast and lunch which will be served at the base village and the fort top, respectively. You'll be dropped back in Mumbai by 21:30 hrs.

    For cancellations made within 12 hrs of payment of the Tikona Fort trek: 100% refund.

    For cancellations made more than 6 days prior to the Tikona Fort trek: 70% refund.

    For cancellations made 3-5 days prior to the Tikona Fort trek: 30% refund.

    For cancellations made less than 3 days prior to the Tikona Fort trek: No refund.

    In case of no show: No refund.

    All refunds will be processed after processing a transaction fee of INR 200 per person. This fee is charged by The Great Next.

    Rules on trip

    Travellers are required to adhere to instructions of the trek leader during the trek to Tikona Fort.

    Consumption of alcohol, drugs, tobacco products and cigarettes is strictly prohibited during the trip.

    Travellers are requested to treat the local culture with respect and avoid littering, defacing property and monuments and causing general disturbance.

    The pick-up point for this trek is Sanjay Gandhi National Park at 05:50 hrs. However, you can also opt for pick-up from Kotak Mahindra ATM near Pritam Hotel at Dadar East, K Star Mall in Chembur, below the main bridge in Vashi, and Hotel 3 Star in Kharghar.

    The tour operator reserves the right to cancel or alter the itinerary of the trek to Tikona Fort to maximize the safety of travellers as well as staff.

    Travellers will be required to bear any additional costs arising due to unforeseen circumstances such as bad weather, road blocks, etc.
