Tikona Fort Trek

On this trek to the Tikona Fort, climb over 3,500 feet over a triangular mountain in the Western Ghats. You'll trek over a relatively easy trail that will lead you across a mountain ridge with valleys on both sides. At the Tikona Fort, you can visit the Mahadev Temple and Satvahan caves as you explore the old fortifications of this ancient fort. From the top of the fort, you can catch misty mountain views of the nearby Tung Fort, Lohagad Fort, Pawna Lake and Visapur Fort.

A perfect way to escape into the midst of nature, this trek to Tikona Fort is ideal for fit beginners as well as experienced trekkers.

Destination

Located at a 1-hr driving distance from Lonavala, the Tikona Fort stands overlooking the vast expanse of the Pawna Lake. The fort is named after the triangular mountain that is carved with a narrow, rock-cut staircase for the ease of travellers.

Meet the team at Bisleri Factory Andheri (East) by 05:50 hrs. Here, board a non-AC, private bus and travel to the base village of the trek. En route, you'll make a few stops to pick-up other trekkers along the way.

After a 4-5 hr drive, you'll arrive at the base village, where you'll grab some breakfast over a session of briefing and introductions. Begin the trek and make your way through the forest towards the Tikona Fort. Spend the afternoon at the top of the fort. Later, you'll begin the return trek back to the base village. Here, you'll have some evening snacks and board the bus back to Mumbai. Subject to traffic conditions, you should reach Andheri (E) by 21:30 hrs.

For cancellations made more than 10 days before departure of the Tikona Fort trek: 75% refund.

For cancellations made 5-10 days before departure of the Tikona Fort trek: 50% refund.

For cancellations made 0-5 days before departure of the Tikona Fort trek: No refund.

No show: No refund.

All refunds will be processed after deducting any transaction charges.

Rules on trip

Travellers are required to adhere to instructions of the trek leader during the trek to Tikona Fort.

Consumption of alcohol, drugs, tobacco products and cigarettes is strictly prohibited during the trip.

Travellers are requested to treat the local culture with respect and avoid littering, defacing property and monuments and causing general disturbance.

The tour operator reserves the right to cancel or alter the itinerary of the trek to Tikona Fort to maximize the safety of travellers as well as staff.
