    One of the more challenging treks in Maharashtra, this trek to Torna will have you navigating slippery rocks, narrow trails and tricky edges. To reach the top, you'll climb up to an elevation of 4,600 feet over the mountainous terrain of the Western Ghats. Since Torna is the tallest fort in the Pune district, you'll get spectacular views of the Sahyadri mountains and surrounding hills. At the fort, you'll explore the old ruins of an historic fort such as the Khoti Darwaja, Bini Darwaja, Zunjar Machi and Budhala Machi.

    This trek to Torna takes you over patches of moderately difficult terrain, making it best for trekkers with some prior experience.


    The tallest fort in the Pune District, the Torna Fort was one of the intial forts captured by the Maratha king Shivaji Maharaj during his rise to power. Often called 'Prachandagad' due to its huge size, the fort is home to old ruins consisting of temples, walls, courtyards and entraces.

  • Trek to Torna

    Meet your fellow trekkers and the trek leader outside Livspace Mall in Pune by 5:00 hrs. Here, you'll board a private, non-AC bus that will take you to the base village of Velhe. After a 2-hr drive, you'll arrive at the base village where you'll have breakfast before beginning the trek to Torna. After a relatively easy trek, you'll arrive at the fort and spend some time exploring the old ruins of Torna. Begin trekking back to Velhe by afternoon. Post lunch at the village, you'll board vehicles and travel back to Pune. You will reach Pune by 21:00 hrs dependng on traffic. Your trip ends here.

    If trek gets cancelled due to Police restrictions/any other unforeseen circumstances/natural calamity 40% of the amount will be refunded. Our trek leaders will try conducting some other nearby trek and make your weekend happy. 

    For any cancellations made after booking the Torna trek: 70% refund.

    All refunds will be processed after deducting any transaction charges.

    Rules on trip

    Travellers are required to adhere to the instructions of the trek leader during the trek to Torna.

    Consumption of alcohol, drugs, tobacco products and cigarettes is strictly prohibited during the trek.

    Travellers are requested to treat the local culture with respect and avoid littering, defacing property and monuments and causing general disturbance.

    Travellers are requested to be punctual and arrive at the pick-up point of the trek on time.

    The tour operator takes utmost care to ensure safety of the travellers and shall not be held responsible for any mishap or accident during the trek to Torna.
