  • Day 1 of the Beaskund trek: Manali to Dhundi

Today you'll arrive at Patlikuhl bus stop early in the morning. You'll be met by the operator and transferred to the campsite. After breakfast, you will take a 30 km-drive through Solang, to the start point of your trek. From here, you will begin the trek to Dhundi. The trail is not hard today, and will give you time to warm up your trekking muscles. You'll walk up gentle slopes, coming up alongside the river Byas every now and then. At Dhundi, your campsite will set up tents and you'll spend the evening relaxing in the meadow here. Overnight in tents.

Day 2 of the Beaskund trek: Dhundi to Bhakarthach

Today the slopes get a little steeper, but it's still not a difficult trek. You'll see the greenery change to a more rocky landscape, with boulders and moraine left behind by glaciers. Your campsite for the night is Bhakarthach, which is a meadow filled with sweet grass. Shepherds bring their flocks here, so you might meet a few. From your campsite, you'll be able to see glorious views of the entire route you've just covered. Overnight in tents.

Day 3 of the Beaskund trek: Beaskund day!

Today you'll start early, and head up from Bhakarthach to Beaskund. The ground is criss-crossed with rivulets, and the temperature drops significantly. You'll walk up paths lined with shrubs and across wide open spaces with pebbles underfoot. Finally as you approach Beaskund, you'll feel the silence descend. It's peaceful and misty up here, and the lake shimmers green. You'll spend some time exploring the area, and then return to your campsite in Bhakarthach for the night. Overnight in tents.

Day 4 of the Beaskund trek: Return to Manali

Today you've got a long day of trekking as you descend all the way back to Dhundi, which is 11 kms, but it'll be easy and you'll make good time. At Dhundi, vehicles are waiting to take you back to Manali. You're welcome to stay one more night at the base camp in Manali, complimentary, if you wish (you'll have to pay INR 650 for meals per person, per night). Trip ends here.
