  • Trip introduction

    The trek to Jungli Jaigad is the perfect opportunity for trekkers with some experience to test their endurance levels. A moderately difficult trek, this takes participants to the Jaigad fort located in dense jungle - hence the name Jungli Jaigad.

    Destination

    There are several forts named Jaigad situated in the Ratnagiri district of Maharashtra, but one is a coastal one an other is located in a dense Jungle. The fort known as Jungli Jaigad is the one in the dense forest, named after its location.

    Participants will find the route to the fort interesting as they get to trek through dense forest, which is now part of the Koyna Wildlife Sanctuary. The fort presents beautiful views of the surrounding jungle, Koyna dam backwaters and the Kumbharli Ghat.

    Rules on the trip

    Consumption of liquor, drugs, tobacco products, cigarettes etc. is strictly prohibited during the camp. The camp will be considered over only when we are back to our home town.

    There is a zero-tolerance policy for participants who litter, deface property or monuments, or cause general disturbance. Any flouting of these rules will be dealt with seriously, and may involve expulsion from the trek or camp, and no refund is admissible in such cases.

    Cancellation policy

    Refund Norms:

    90% refund if cancellation is made more than 10 days prior to the date of departure date of the event

    60% refund if cancellation is made more than 6 days (148 hours) and less than 10 days prior to the departure date of the event

    40% refund if cancellation is made more than 3 days (72 hours)and less than 6 days prior to the departure date of the event

    No refund will be made if a cancellation is made within 3 days prior to the departure date of the event.

    Additional instructions, booking policies, terms and conditions

    During the camps or treks, the participants shall abide by the instructions and decisions of the camp director.

    In case of any medical ailments, disorders etc. which the participants are suffering or have suffered from, it is his/her responsibility to inform the organizers in advance, before commencement of the camp or trek.

    In case of any medical problems, ailments, disorders etc. or symptoms of the same, arising during the camp or trek, the participant(s) shall inform the organizers about the same, at the earliest.

    If required, the participant(s) will have to take medical treatment from the doctor/attendant available on the campsite or from the nearest available medical center or hospital. The expenses for all medical treatment and arrangements for the same will be solely borne by the participant.

    In case of any injury, sickness, accident, death or any other casualty or loss or damage of valuables or luggage or any equipment; the supplier, its instructors, organisers, volunteers or any other person involved wholly or partially, either individually or jointly, shall not be responsible in any manner for the same and no claims of the participants, parents, guardians, relatives or friends of participants will be entertained.

    The operator will not be responsible for any losses incurred for any train/air/bus/taxi bookings, hotel bookings or extension to the camp done by clients/participants (either independently or through the operator) due to cancellation of the event. Fees accepted as event charges only will be refunded.

  • Day 2: Pune - Koynanagar

    Participants meet at the main gate of Fergusson college at 10.45 p.m. sharp, and depart for Koynanagar at 11 p.m.

    Day 2: Koynanagar - Pune

    Participants wake up early and after some breakfast, they begin their trek. Participants reach the top of the fort and enjoy a delicious packed lunch. They then enjoy exploring the fort and taking in some of the fantastic views from the top.

    Participants then begin their descent to the base of the fort. On arrival at Koynanagar, they break for some tea and then begin the return journey back to Pune. Participants have dinner en route to Pune, and reach Pune by 11 p.m.
