  • Day 1: Arrival at Srinagar

Participants meet the supplier at Srinagar Airport. They are taken sightseeing to areas of interest like Nishat Bagh and Shalimar Bagh, which are Mughal gardens, and the Shankaracharya Temple. After the tour, participants will be driven to the base camp in Ahrabal. At the base camp, an experienced guide conducts a briefing about what's in store on the trek and explains the do's and don'ts.

    Overnight stay is in tents.

Day 2: Trek from Ahrabal to Kongwattan

Begin the climb to Kongwattan as soon as breakfast is done. The ascent is gentle, but takes time and the altitude gained is around 1,122 ft. Participants pass a cluster of Gujjar settlements on the banks of the Vishav River. Once they reach Kongwattan, participants can explore the meadows and clear streams near by.

Day 3: Trek from Kongwattan to Niksar

Today, participants mostly climb to gain an altitude 1,575 ft in 5 hours. There are flat grounds in-between climbs and a river crossing on the way. After passing through pine forests and a few clearings, participants will reach sweeping grasslands that are formed by many converging valleys. The trail then climbs swiftly past a few Gujjar huts. Mahinag and Niksar lakes are a short distance form the settlement. Overnight stay is in tents along the shores of one of the lakes.

Day 4: Trek from Niksar to Kausarnag

Leave the fresh water lakes behind and head to Kausarnag, which is the 2nd largest high-altitude lake. The lake is covered by steep ridges of Pir Panjal region, about 3km in length, about 1 km wide and situated 11,482 feet above sea level.

Day 5: Trek from Kausarnag to Bramsar

Participants start moving toward Bramsar early morning. The trek takes them through tall grass, ridges and finally to the shore of the Bramsar lake. The lake is at an altitude of 11,886 ft and is surrounded by beautiful mountain peaks, making it a photographer's delight.

Day 6: Trek from Bramsar to Chersar

The Chersar Lake is located between Bramsar and Indersar and is at an altitude of 11,545 ft. This lake is the source of the Vishav Nallah.

Day 7: Trek from Chersar to Mughal Road

Participants trek for about 4 hours to Mughal Road via Dobjen Wildlife Park. There is ample time to see the sights around before heading back to Srinagar.
