    The Kuari Pass gives you some of the best views amongst the Himalayan treks in this region. You'll be breathing in the crisp mountain air, walking through lush forests, fields, and narrow village paths. For the Kuari Pass trek, You'll walk along routes that are flanked with snow-capped peaks in the distance. From the trail, you'll get close views of legendary Himalayan peaks like Mana, Kamet, Dronagiri, and the ridges of the Nanda Devi sanctuary.

    While the Kuari Pass trek itself is an unforgettable experience, the highlight is clearly the Pass itself. Here, you feel the rush of victory and adrenaline because you've reached your destination. The winds rush through the Kuari Pass, buffeting your body, and making you feel like throwing your arms up and screaming for joy! The Kuari Pass trek is a whole different feeling.

    Destination

    This 6-day Kuari Pass trek traverses through green meadows, dense forests, remote villages, gushing rivers and snow-capped mountains to give trekkers a trip of a lifetime. Located in Chamoli district, Kuari, which means 'doorway' in the local language, lies south of the Tibet border and on the western edge of the Nanda Devi Biosphere Reserve. While trekking in Kuari Pass, you'll be surrounded on all sides by imposing ranges that include the Kamet, which extends up to a dizzying height of 7756 metres as well as the snowy mountain ranges extending all the way to Gangotri.

    Rules on the trip

    During the Kuari Pass trek, participants must adhere to the instructions of the trip leader/guide at all times.

    Consumption of alcoholic beverages/drugs while trekking in Kuari Pass is not permitted.

    Cancellation policy

    The following cancellation charges will be applicable.

    45 days before departure of Kuari Pass trek: Full refund (after deducting any expenses that have been incurred for hotel bookings, transport, etc.)

    30-45 days before departure of Kuari Pass trek: 75% of trip cost will be refunded (after deducting any expenses that have been incurred for hotel bookings, transport, etc.)

    15-30 days before departure of Kuari Pass trek: 50% of trip cost will be refunded (after deducting any expenses that have been incurred for hotel bookings, transport, etc.)

    Less than 15 days before Kuari Pass trek: No refund

    Additional instructions, booking policies, terms and conditions

    All the arrangements for the Kuari Pass trek are pre-planned and prepaid. In case of non-completion of the tour due to any reason whatsoever there will be no refund for any unutilized services. Any extra expense due to any alteration has to be paid extra.

    Renok Adventures reserves the right to change the plan for trekking in Kuari Pass in case there is danger involved for the group or whenever the trek leader deems it necessary.

  • Day 1 of Kuari Pass trek

    Today you’ll have to reach Joshimath by late evening/night. The drive from Haridwar is a 10 hour drive, so plan accordingly. On reaching Joshimath, you’ll check into the guest house. Do get a good night’s sleep, because your Kuari Pass trek starts tomorrow.

    Day 2 of Kuari Pass trek

    After indulging in a hearty breakfast, this is the day you will begin the actual Kuari Pass trek. Trekkers first drive up to Dhak village and from here the adventure begins. You will trek up 3 kms through a hemlock, oak and rhododendron forest after which a short descent takes you to the Gulling campsite at Chitra Kanha which is located in a meadow.

    The campsite is serene and offers breathtaking views of the Chaukhamba Range cloaked in white snow, extending to 23,500 feet. For the rest of the day you can explore the campsite and replenish your water supply from a small spring located at the head of the meadow. After dinner, it’s lights out.

    Day 3 of Kuari Pass trek

    To prepare for today’s section of Kuari Pass trekking, you will start the day with a few stretching exercises in the open. After working up an appetite, you can dive into the breakfast as your trek leader briefs you about what’s in store today. Then you will begin your 6 kms trek to Tali Top, your campsite for tonight. The trail passes through a forested ridge of rhododendron, spruce and silver birch.

    At Tapovan, the trek gets easier as you follow a well-defined track and take in the lush surroundings. It takes one hour to reach the ridge and an additional 30 minutes to reach Tapovan. Another night, another alpine meadow for you to camp in as you reach Tali Top and rest those tired muscles. Overnight in campsite.

    Day 4 of Kuari Pass trek

    Today, the highlight of your Kuari Pass trekking experience awaits: the Pass itself! it's the longest day of trekking so far, so you will start earlier than usual. The first part of the Kuari Pass trek for today takes you on a gradual ascent to Khullara Top. From here experience the beauty of the Himalayan winter as you trek through a snow patch to reach Kuari Top. At Kuari Top, experience gushing winds and savour the unending vistas of the Himalayan peaks. You'll return to your campsite at Tali Top after that. A warm campfire and sumptuous dinner awaits you here. Overnight in campsite.

    Day 5 of Kuari Pass trek

    Make the most of your last day of trekking in Kuari Pass. After breakfast you will trek downhill alongside the Rishi Ganga river gushing past. From the roadhead, a taxi will take you to Joshimath. Overnight in guest house.

    Day 6 of Kuari Pass trek

    You'll wake up happy to be back in a comfortable bed, but missing the mountains. Trip ends after check out, so you can proceed to your next destination.

    Tonight you'll camp in Chitrakanha. Replenish your water supply from a small spring located at the head of the meadow. After dinner, it’s lights out. You'll be provided with lunch and dinner today. All accommodation on this trek is triple-sharing by default, but for couples, twin-sharing can be arranged.

    Overnight camp in Tali Top

    Another night, another alpine meadow for you to camp in as you reach Tali Top and rest those tired muscles. Overnight in campsite. Today's package includes all meals. All accommodation on this trek is triple-sharing by default, but for couples, twin-sharing can be arranged.
