In the summer months from April to June, Roopkund lake will be frozen over, and there'll be snow in the higher camps. At this time, it's not easy to see the skeletons. This is a good time for those who want to take on the challenge of an icy trail, and a tougher trek. During the later months of the year, from September to November, there is no snow along the trail, and Roopkund lake with its skeletons is clearly visible. The weather makes this a more moderate trek during this time.
