Trekking
This is a paragraph with little content.

This is another small paragraph.

  • Trip introduction

Not the easiest, yet the most coveted, the Stok Kangri trek takes you to the soaring altitude of 20,000 feet! From this height, you'll be able to see the entire Karakoram Range, a majority of the iconic Himalayan peaks, and the whole of Leh along with its surrounding regions! The highlight of this trek however, is that you can get to this height without any technical mountaineering expertise. You'll get to the base camp of Stok Kangri within 2-3 days of trekking, while it takes much longer to get to the base camp of any other peak of this height. All along this trek, you'll see the barren beauty of Ladakh; the snow capped mountains, and the boundless stretches of icy desert.

    Destination

Located in the Hemis National Park, Stok Kangri is the highest peak of the Stok range. From the peak, you'll get uninterrupted views of the Ladakh Range, Zanskar Range, the Karakoram Range and the Indus Valley flowing below!

Although it requires no prior experience in mountaineering, this trek does require a level of acclimatization. This is done from your starting point in Leh, giving you two full days to explore the beautiful Ladakhi culture. From then on, your trek will trail through the Stok Village and Mankorma before reaching the base camp, marking your gradual ascent in altitude. On the summit day, you'll begin early in the morning, giving you the unforgettable experience of hiking in the dark and watching the sun rise over the mountains.

    Destination highlights

    • Conquer a 20,000 foot high peak, the highest in the Stok range
    • Watch the dawn sky turn pink on summit day
    • Camp at starkly beautiful locations
    • Spend a couple of days in Leh and visit Shanti Stupa, Leh Palace and Leh Monastery
