    The unique itinerary for this Valley of Flowers trek allows you to spend more time in the ethereal world heritage site than during the usual treks. Participants trek through the valley, up to beautiful vantage points and higher reaches, and on to Badrinath Temple and Hemkund Sahib.

    The Valley of Flowers trek is moderately challenging and can even be attempted by fit first-time travellers with a little effort.

    Destination

    The Valley of Flowers trek takes you deep into a world heritage site that is part of the famous Nanda Devi Biosphere. You'll trek past waterfalls and small ponds, watch the mist rolling in, walk through lush greenery, discovering viewpoints with gorgeous views, and all this with the towering mountain around. There's plenty to see and do in the park while you walk. The Valley of Flowers trek takes you into the home of rare and endangered animals like the Asiatic black bear, brown bear, snow leopard, blue sheep and more. On your Valley of Flowers trek, you should be able to catch 300 species of wild flowers blooming, including the Blue Poppy, Cobra Lily, Anemones, and the famous Brahmakamal, as well as geraniums, primula, and others.

    Rules on the trip

    The operator has a set of guidelines for the Valley of Flowers trek, that all participants must adhere to, based on the tenets of ‘Leave No Trace’ and ‘Tread Light’ policies. These guidelines are very simple and prioritise travelling in small groups, better planning, understanding impact of camping, proper waste disposal, respecting local cultures, sensitivity towards wildlife and so on.

    Cancellation policy

    If you cancel 45 days before departure of the Valley of Flowers trek: Full refund (after deducting any expenses that have been incurred for hotel bookings, transport, etc.)

    If you cancel 30-45 days before departure of the Valley of Flowers trek: 75% of trip cost will be refunded (after deducting any expenses that have been incurred for hotel bookings, transport, etc.)

    If you cancel 15-30 days before departure of the Valley of Flowers trek: 50% of trip cost will be refunded (after deducting any expenses that have been incurred for hotel bookings, transport, etc.)

    If you cancel 15 days or less before departure of the Valley of Flowers trek: No refund

    The operator takes utmost care to ensure safety of its clients. However in the case of any unforeseen mishaps on the Valley of Flowers trek, the operator will not be liable for any injuries caused or for loss of life.

    All participants would be required to sign an indemnity form before the start of the Valley of Flowers trek, without which they will not be allowed to take part in it.

    If due to bad weather, sickness, any natural calamity or any other personal reason the Valley of Flowers trek itinerary is changed, the extra charges arising due to it will be borne by the guests.

  • Day 1 of the Valley of Flowers trek - Drive to Auli

    You'll meet at Haridwar railway station at 07:00 hrs and board vehicles to Auli. This is a long, interesting drive of 8-9 hours. Most of the journey takes you along the Ganga and Alaknanda rivers. En route you will pass the holy towns of Rishikesh, Dev Prayag and Rudra Prayag. Stay overnight at a beautiful lodge in an apple orchard in Auli.

    Day 2 of the Valley of Flowers trek - Trek to Govindghat and Ghangria

    Today you'll be driven to Govindghat, the starting point for the Valley of Flowers trek. From here, you'll begin your trek, crossing over the Alaknanda river and going through pine forests, towards the Bhyundar valley. There are numerous waterfalls dotting the hills around, and everywhere you look, nature is growing and blossoming. You'll stay at a hotel in Ghangaria for the night.

    Day 3 of the Valley of Flowers trek- Trek to the Valley of Flowers

    It's a delightful and short ascent, and you'll be at the highlight of your Valley of Flowers trek alley today. You'll walk through undulating meadows filled with varieties of alpine flowers, a network of streams and big mountains all around. You spend 3-4 hrs exploring different corners and vantage points of the valley and towards late afternoon, head back to the hotel at Ghangria. Overnight in hotel.

    Day 4 of the Valley of Flowers trek - Trek to Hemkund Sahib

    Today you'll trek to Hemkund Sahib, a popular Sikh shrine built next to the beautiful Hemkund lake. The lake is surrounded by wild flowers, with Brahmkamal being the most popular. The gradient is steep at places and trekking to the shrine will take about 3-4 hrs. You also visit the Laxman mandir next to the Gurudwara. After that, you'll return to the hotel in Ghangaria.

    Day 5 of the Valley of Flowers trek - Badrinath and Auli

    After breakfast, you'll trek back to Govindghat, and then drive to Badrinath. You can explore the beautiful temple of Badrinath on the banks of the Alaknanda, with snow-capped mountains all around, and take a dip in the hot sulphur pools if you like. Overnight at the lodge in Auli.

    Day 6 of the Valley of Flowers trek - Auli to Haridwar

    Today, you'll be driven from Auli back to Haridwar, along the banks of the Ganga and Alaknanda rivers. Trip ends here.
