    This 6-day trek across Chamba Valley starts from Mcleod Ganj and offers you the opportunity to trek through the Dhauladhar ranges of Himachal Pradesh. The highlight of the trek is a crossover through Indrahar Pass at an altitude of 14,245 feet, which provides you the spectacular views of Kangra and Chamba valleys. This trek takes you through the forest of oak, rhododendron and pine trees. You will walk alongside cold streams with thick ice cubes floating on it, hike through verdant meadows and see the lifestyle of the Gaddi people - the shepherds traversing the Chamba Valley.

    This trek across Chamba Valley is moderately difficult and is not recommended for beginners.

    Chamba Valley is located amidst the majestic Dhauladhar - the outer Himalayas, Pir Panjal - the middle Himalayas and Zanskar ranges - the inner Himalayas, in Himachal Pradesh. Trekking through the Chamba valley entails a walk through Indrahar Pass, the pass at an altitude of 14,245 feet. From the vantage points of this trek, you can see the panoramic views of Kangra and Chamba valleys. The valley also has a few beautiful villages and quaint temples along the way. You can explore them to experience the culture of locals.

  • Day 1 of Chamba Valley trek: Arrive in Dharamkot

    Today you should arrive at the guesthouse in Dharamkot. After checking in, you can go for an acclimatization walk or sightseeing. There are good cafes and restaurants in Dharamkot where you can have dinner. Overnight at the guesthouse in Dharamkot.

    Arrive at the guesthouse in Dharamkot by afternoon. Please note that no meals are offered today. You can have dinner in cafes or restaurants at Dharamkot at your own expense. The cost of guesthouse accommodation is also not included in the package.

    For cancellations made more than 3 days before departure of the Chamba Valley trek: 30% refund.

    For cancellations made less than 3 days before departure of the Chamba Valley trek: no refund.

    In case of no show: no refund.

    All refunds will be processed after deducting a transaction fee of INR 200 per person. This fee is charged by The Great Next.

    Rules on trip

    Travellers are required to follow instructions of the camp leader during the Chamba Valley trek.

    Travellers are requested to treat the local culture with respect and avoid littering, defacing property and monuments and causing general disturbance.

    Consumption of alcohol, drugs and tobacco products like cigarettes is strictly prohibited during the Chamba Valley trek.

    Minimum two people are required to book Chamba Valley trek.

    The tour operator reserves the right to alter or cancel the itinerary of the Chamba Valley trek to maximize the safety of travellers and staff. Any costs arising due to such a change in the itinerary are borne by the traveller.
