    Embark on an off-beat, underrated and little known adventure on the Chanernahan Lakes trek. It is a 6 day trek that is moderately difficult. This trek offers a stark contrast of the green meadows and white snowfields, as you trek your way from Janglik to Litham. You will trek to the sacred lakes of Chandernahan on the fourth day, which is the highlight of this trek. You will also get to explore the local culture of the region. Set out on this trek and gaze at the unparallel beauty of Himachal Pradesh.

    Destination

    The Chandernahan Lakes lie at an altitude of 14,108 feet, at the border of Kinnaur and Shimla. It is a little know destination in Himachal Pradesh. On the trek, you will begin from the green landscape of Janglik village, trek through oak forests, cross the tree line and then trek through vast snow fields. You will also get to see the enormous waterfalls on the trek, along with the immensely beautiful high altitude lakes - all the while being accompanied by snow capped mountains of Himachal Pradesh.

  • Day 1 of the Chandernahan Lakes Trek: Chandigarh to Janglik Village

    Today, you will be picked up at Chandigarh and driven to Janglik village which is the last village of Shimla district. In the evening, you will attend a briefing session and meet your fellow trekkers. Overnight in homestay at Janglik village.

    For cancellations made 14 days or more before the Chandernahan Lakes trek departure date: 70% of the cost will be refunded, minus any transaction charges.

    For cancellations made 3-13 days before the Chandernahan Lakes trek departure date: 50% of the cost will be refunded, minus any transaction charges.

    For cancellations made 0-2 days before the Chandernahan Lake trek departure date: No refund.

    In case of no show: No refund.

    All refunds will be processed after deducting a tranasaction fee of INR 200 per person. This fee is charged by The Great Next.

    Rules on trip

    Travellers are required to follow instructions of the trek leader during the Chandernahan Lakes trek.

    Travellers are requested to treat the local culture with respect and avoid littering, defacing property and monuments and causing general disturbance.

    If you wish to interact with the local natives at villages during the trek, please consult your trek leader before approaching them.

    Consumption of alcohol, drugs or tobacco products like cigarettes is strictly prohibited during the Chandernahan Lakes trek.

    Additional instructions, booking policies, terms and conditions

    The tour operator reserves the right to alter or cancel the itinerary of the Chandernahan Lakes trek to ensure maximum safety of travellers and staff.

    High altitude treks may face unpredictable weather conditions that may change the mentioned itinerary.

    Any costs arising due to such a change in the itinerary are borne by the traveller.

    The tour operator takes utmost care to ensure safety of the travellers and shall not be held responsible for any mishap, accident or loss of life and property during the Chandernahan Lakes trek.

    Travellers are required to carry a medical and disclaimer certificate along with a valid identity proof and its photocopy.
