    The Kashmir Great Lakes trek is one of the prettiest treks in India. On this 9-day packed itinerary of the trek, you will explore the following turquoise colored Alpine lakes: Vishansar, Kishansar, Gadsar, Satsar, Gangabal and Nundkol. This moderately difficult trek takes you along steep ascents and descents on each day. Your trails are swarming with colorful meadows, and flanked by forests of Maple, Bhoj and scented Pine trees. This is the only multi-day trek on which you get opportunities to stay in tents pitched beside the lakes, in the midst of snow-covered himalayan peaks.

    Kashmir is undeniably one of the most beautiful places in the world. The Alpine ranges of Kashmir are home to a few pristine lakes. This trek across the great lakes of Kashmir starts form Sonamarg. You will be trekking alongside lush meadows and scented pine forests throughout the trip and visit the six magnificent Alpine lakes in Kashmir. These turquoise-colored lakes are surrounded by snowy Himalayan peaks and grassy pastures. Throughout the trek, you will be staying in tents pitched at the banks of these pretty lakes.

  • Day 1 of Kashmir Great Lakes Trek: Arrival at Sonamarg

    Arrive at Srinagar airport by 12:00 hours and meet the operator. You will be driven to the campsite in Sonamarg where evening snacks will be served to you. Spend time relaxing at your campsite. Post-dinner, retire to your tents at the campsite in Sonamarg.

    Overnight in tents at Sonamarg campsite.

    Transfer from Srinagar to Sonamarg. You will be staying in Alpine tents on twin/triple sharing basis. Meals for today include lunch and dinner.

    For cancellations made 30 days or more before departure of Kashmir Great Lakes Trek: 95% refund.

    For cancellations made between 15-29 days before departure of Kashmir Great Lakes Trek: 50% refund.

    For cancellations made less than 15 days before departure of Kashmir Great Lakes Trek: No refund.

    In case of no show: No refund.

    All refunds will be processed after deducting a transaction fee of INR 200 per person. This fee is charged by The Great Next.

    Rules on trip

    Travellers must follow all instructions of the trek leader during Kashmir Great Lakes Trek.

    Travellers are requested to treat the local culture with respect and avoid littering, defacing property and monuments and causing any general disturbance.

    Consumption of alcohol and drugs is strictly prohibited during Kashmir Great Lakes Trek.

    Insurance is mandatory for all international as well as domestic travellers (can be arranged for INR 734)

    The tour operator takes utmost care to ensure the maximum safety of travellers and will not be held responsible for any accidents during Kashmir Great Lakes Trek.

    The tour operator reserves the right to alter or cancel the itinerary of the Kashmir Great Lakes Trek due to any unforeseen circumstances such as bad weather or natural calamities. Travellers will be required to bear any costs arising due to such a change in the itinerary.
