Join us on a week long trek in search of the elusive snow leopard. This is a moderate intensity trek that also provides ample opportunity for nature lovers and shutterbugs to get up close and personal with the wildlife in the area.

    Destination

The ideal period for spotting a snow Leopard is from October to March, that’s from end of autumn to the beginning of spring. These elusive cats are spotted throughout the Hemis National Park, and in the Sham area west of Leh (the most popular spots where we can spot these shy cats are Ney Phu, Ule Phu, and the hills of Skindyang village). Besides the snow leopard there is always a good chance of spotting many other famous and rare animals like Nyan or Tibetan Argali, Himalayan Blue Sheep, called Bharai or Napo, Uriel, locally called Shapo, Asiatic ibex, and among the predators are Red Fox, Tibetan Wolf, Lynx, Pallas Cat, and many others. This trip also allows you to take in spectacular views of the rugged Leh landscape, visit sacred monastries, enjoy the local cuisine and learn more about the culture and people of this ancient Himalayan kingdom.
