  • Trip introduction

Witness the unique landscape of Kashmir on this 7-day trek to the gorgeous Tarsar Marsar Lakes. Trek through the "Switzerland of India" to get to the lakes, and cross lush meadows, pine forests, pristine rivers - all in the company of the mighty Himalayan mountains. Spend a couple of nights at the banks of the enchanting lakes and watch their colour change as the sun makes it way to the snow-capped horizons.

Since the region around the Tarsar Marsar Lakes is largely unexplored, this trek to the Tarsar Marsar Lakes is a great alternative to the more popular Great Lakes of Kashmir Trek.

    Destination

Located at an elevation of 12,500 feet, the almond-shaped Tarsar Lake is the source of the River Lidder. It is surrounded by green and brown mountains of Kashmir. On the other hand, Marsar Lake is situated in the Dachigam National Park and attracts some unique species of birds like golden eagles and cinnamon sparrows. Both the lakes are quite unique, and the trek to the lakes provide the quintessential Kashmiri experience.
