One of the most challenging treks in South India, Kumar Parvatha is a summit to scratch off from your list. This trek is about 6-7 hours one way, and takes you up to about 5616 feet. You'll be covering two peaks in one climb: Kumara Parvatha and Shesha Parvatha, climbing through lush greenery with spectacular views all around. You'll also be visiting Mallali Falls on your way back. The monsoons are a beautiful time to do this trek, with streams running underfoot, and the forests glowing green. But beware: you'll find leeches too! Do carry Moov spray or Dettol or salt to deal with the leeches.
Kumara Parvatha, also known as Pushpagiri, is the third highest peak in the Western Ghats of Karnataka at a height of 5616 feet above sea level. The peak lies on the border between Dakshina Kannada and Kodagu district, and offers a trail through a region rich in biodiversity. The prominent snout peak and the steep ascent make this a tough trek, but it offers great views of peaks layered one behind the other.
