    The Duke's Nose is a famous trekking spot close to Lonavala. Although the trek looks challenging, it is surprisingly easy - which makes it a suitable option for beginners. On this trek, you'll be trekking to the Nagphani Point, from where you'll enjoy the gorgeous views of the Sahyadris, its lush greenery and a number of clouds caught between the mountains.


    The Duke's Nose, named after Sir Duke Wellington's pointed nose, is nestled between Khandala and Lonavala, making it an accessible trek around Mumbai and Pune. It is also known as Nagphani point because it forms the shape of a hooded snake. The best time to visit the Duke's Nose is during monsoons because the landscape transforms into a blanket of lush greenery with gorgeous views of the Sahyadris in the distance.

  • Monsoon Trek to the Duke's Nose

    You'll report to the pick-up point on time, from where you'll be driven to Kurvande, which is the base village for this trek. Upon reaching the village, you'll begin your trek to the Duke's Nose. You'll reach the summit by noon, and after spending some time there, you'll descend back to the base village by early evening. After that, you'll begin your drive back to Mumbai. You'll reach Mumbai by 21:00 hrs. Your trip ends here.

    Your trip ends before nightfall.

    You'll be picked up in a private non-AC bus from the pick-up point. Upon reaching the base village, breakfast will be served to you. Remember to carry a packed lunch which you may have at the top. You'll begin your return journey by evening, and you'll be dropped back in Mumbai by 21:00 hrs, subject to traffic conditions.

    For cancellations made more than 10 days prior to the Duke's Nose monsoon trek: 75% refund.

    For cancellations made 5-10 days prior to the Duke's Nose monsoon trek: 50% refund. For cancellations made less than 5 days pripr to the Duke's Nose monsoon trek: No refund.

    In case of no show: No refund.

    All refunds will be processed after deducting a transaction fee of INR 200 per person. This fee is charged by The Great Next.

    Rules on trip

    Smoking cigarettes, chewing tobacco or consuming alcohol is strictly prohibited during the Duke's Nose trek.

    You must stick with your group at all times.

    No damage should be inflicted on monuments or natural environments.

    You must adhere to the instructions of the trek leader at all times.

    Taking photos or selfie near the edges are not allowed.

    Participants are requested to carry trash back to the city and dispose it in dustbins.

    In case of injury, damage to self or property or death during the Duke's Nose trek, the operator will not be held responsible.

    Adventure activity is arranged considering normal weather. In case of cancellation of any event due to reasons beyond control such as natural calamities, riots, political uncertainty, public transport failure etc., refund shall be payable with respect to the given to refund policy.

    There will be no refunds or discounts given for services unused or missed due to traveller's own fault, negligence or breach of terms.
