    Trek to an off-beat destination and explore a little-known corner of the Western Ghats on this trek to Kataldhar Waterfall. As you approach the waterfall, you'll find yourself climbing over slippery rocks and passing through dense, overgrown forests on narrow trails. Upon reaching, you can take a bath in the cool waters of the river gushing over steep mountain inclines.

    This trek to Kataldhar Waterfall takes you over strenous patches of uneven terrain, making it a trek of relatively moderate difficulty.

    Destination

    Located besides the Shirota Lake near the fort of Rajmachi, the 400-feet tall Kataldhar Waterfall flows over a steeply inclined and curved mountain edge. While the waterfall does not have much water during other seasons, the flow drastically picks up in the months of monsoon. From the highest vantage point at the waterfall, you can look across at the fort of Rajmachi and Shrivardhan as well as the Shirota Lake.

  • Trek to Kataldhar Waterfall!

    Meet your fellow trekkers and the trek leader at the Shivajinagar railway station in Pune by 06:30 hrs. Here, you'll board a train that will take you till Lonavala. Upon reaching Lonavala, you'll have breakfast and begin trekking towards the Kataldhar Waterfall. You'll arrive at your destination after a relatively easy 2-hr trek. Spend some time at the waterfall clicking pictures and having fun with your fellow trekkers. Begin trekking back to Lonavala by afternoon. En route, you'll stop to have a packed lunch. At Lonavala station, you'll board a train and travel back to Pune. Your trip ends here.

    Your trip begins at the Shivajinagar railway station in Pune by 06:30 hrs. Travel to Lonavala will be arranged in railway trains. Since you're trekking to a waterfall, don't forget to carry an extra pair of dry clothes. Today's meal package includes breakfast and a packed lunch.
