  • Trip introduction

This trek to the cliff at the top of Harishchandragad is a tough one, and is not recommended for first-timers. You'll climb via the Pachnai route (which is easier than the Nali chi Vaat route) but it will still be a challenge! At the top of this old fort, your campsite is set up on Konkankada cliff, so you're camping at 4,671 feet above sea level. From here, you'll watch the sun setting over the surrounding valleys and peaks, and enjoy a crackling bonfire with music and ghost stories. The next morning, you'll catch a glorious sunrise, explore the fort, and then head down again.

    Destination

Harishchandragad is an ancient fort that lies at the top of one of the most challenging treks in Maharashtra. The route to the top is studded with boulders, rocky patches, and some narrow trails with scary drops. At the top, you'll be able to explore the ruins of the fort and the ancient caves, as well as the Kedareshwar temple.
