• Trip introduction

This trek to Tandulwadi is a moderately difficult one, but in the rainy season, it becomes a real adventure. Expect to see sections of the path washed away, forcing you to clamber over rocks, scramble up steep slopes on all fours, and slide about on the wet grass! There are some sections that are very tricky, and you'll come back drenched, muddy, and completely thrilled with yourself.

At the top of the fort, there are some water cisterns to explore, as well as sprawling views in all directions. You'll also be able to see Kohoj fort, Takmak fort, Asherigad, and the sea in the distance.

Tandulwadi village is a tribal village with friendly people and scenic surroundings, but is well-connected by road. It lies amidst paddy fields, with the Western Ghats stretching out around. This region is especially beautiful in the monsoon months, when the rain-drenched forests turn bright green and small streams flow down the sides of the forts.
