Prabalmachi lies at an elevation of approximately 1500 feet high, and can be seen from the Mumbai-Pune Expressway. It is the base camp for more challenging treks such as the Kalavantin pinnacle and Prabalgad Fort and offers breathtaking views of both. The moss laden, thick Sahyadri forests are lush green and swathed with mist in the monsoon, but dry up for the rest of the year.
